It’s a little depressing when it’s down to 13.8%.
Unemployment rates improved slightly last month in West Bend, but remain the fourth highest in the state.
In West Bend, the unemployment rate in April was 13.8 percent, down slightly from 14.2 percent in March. Last April, the city’s employment rate was 5.5 percent.
In Washington County, the April unemployment rate of 9.3 percent was also 0.4 percent lower than the March figure. In April, Washington County had the 46th highest unemployment rate among Wisconsin’s 72 counties.
The article doesn’t say if this is related to all the previous layoffs and folks falling off the charts because they’ve been unemployed too long to count.
Oh, Owen, stop complaining!
Soon they will all be able to get jobs in windmill factors and choo-choo factories/stops and in ..... uh ..... brain freeze .....
