The UN’s nuclear watchdog has been told Iran may have continued secret work on nuclear weapons after 2003, the date US intelligence suggested the work ceased.
A US National Intelligence Estimate released last December said Tehran had frozen its atomic programme in 2003.
But documents presented to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) suggest the work continued.
This is the second report to suggest that it was.
Ooooooh what is this news’ implications on US intelligence reports. We all just better be careful because we never know when middle east decides to retaliate. Stop the war!
The current occupant doesn’t develop policy based on intelligence, anyway. He does it the other way ‘round.
Well, at least we didn’t have to hear about how Owen’s hawkish impulses led to this particular post.
Are we going to get any reaction from those who were critical of Mossad’s report a few weeks ago? Or is the IAEA involved in some sort of secret neocon conspiracy with them?
Well, Tony, since you brought it up… did Owen blog the news about the NIE when it embarrassed the current occupant? I honestly don’t remember, but I suspect not. Either that or it was mentioned, but in a dismissive way.
Thanks for ignoring my question.
Owen wasn’t at all dismissive, in fact he said it was good news, but cautioned against complacency. You were all over it, of course.
Now that your memory has been refreshed, perhaps you could share if these two recent reports have changed your perspective.
I don’t even understand your question. And okay, you can win: dismissive isn’t quite the same as cautionary. Heh.
That’s ok. You just answered it.
Intelligence or propaganda?
