At church this evening there was a man with a patch on his eye. It had obviously been injured recently. This is the conversation that Daughter #2 and I had:
Daughter #2: Tonight I’m going to pray for that man with the patch on his eye. I don’t know his name, but I’ll just pray for “the man with the patch on his eye.”
Owen: I’m pretty sure God will know who you’re talking about. He kinda knows a lot of things.
Daughter #2: Not “kinda.” He KNOWS a lot of things.
Touché.
Don’cha just love it when the young’uns PROVE they are smarter than us? ![]()
That’s a little sad. She only thinks she knows that because people with a lot of credibility in her life tell her that while she’s very young. It’s a kind sentiment, but I’d be more impressed if she said, “IF the stories I’ve read happen to be true, he KNOWS a lot of things.”
Wow. Bash a child for caring - unprompted - for someone in need. Maybe she’ll pray for you, too.
Sweet story, Owen. Kids are a precious gift.
Faith like a child. That’s really wonderful and beautiful.
JIJAWM,
What is “a little sad” is that in your enlightened view of the world, you cant comprehend that she is not trying to impress you - or anyone else for that matter.
tee bee,
I didn’t bash anyone. I noted the kind sentiment.
Dean,
I didn’t say she was trying to impress anyone. Owen’s “touche” remark and the first comment indicate an impressed reaction. I was commenting on that. It’s sad that you can’t comprehend that distinction.
