I wonder if Pelosi had a chance to talk with this guy when she was there.
In Syria, student Mesud Hamid posted photos on the net of Kurdish pupils demanding equal rights. He was arrested while taking an exam at university.
“I was tortured,” he said. “For one year and three months I was held in a cell measuring one metre by two. I didn’t see the sun or sky for all that time.”
Mr Hamid has since fled to France.
Um…. because Nancy Pelosi supports torture?
You should ask the same question about Republican congressmen Frank Wolf, Robert Aderholt and Joseph Pitts, who were all in Syria to meet with Assad just a few days before Pelosi.
Again… for the perspective challenged… there is a difference between a congressman going to a foreign country on a fact-finding mission and a Speaker of the House going to a foreign country to conduct U.S. foreign policy.
Context, folks… context.
Nawww ... Bela Pelosi was too busy giving the Monica Lewinsky treatment to a terrorist thug and trying to undermine U.S. foreign policy by offering the Democrats’ alternative, which is:
I love you,
You love me,
We’re a happy family,
With a great big hug
And a kiss from me to you,
Won’t you say you love me too?
Didn’t we sent a Canadian Muslim man to Syria to be tortured? I think that was under the policy of rendition.
Another form or torture: the twisty logic required to demonize speaker Pelosi for things members of congress do all the time.
So, we deamonize Pelosi for what members of congress do all the time- what is that? Screwing up messages between Israel and Syria, cavorting with the enemy, giving different views of American policy that was set by the President? I don’t recall, but did Newt or Tom Delay go visit the enemy when Clinton was president? I don’t think so, but please correct me if I was wrong. Did Tip O’Neil do when Reagan was president? Again, correct me if I am wrong.
