Tide Rolls Over Dawgs

Heh.

ATLANTA—In what lacked the defense of a usual SEC game, No. 2 Alabama outlasted No. 3 Georgia 32-28 to claim the 2012 SEC championship. Alabama is now headed to Miami to face No. 1 Notre Dame in the Discover BCS National Championship Game on Jan. 7

I think we can all agree to root against Notre Dame, no?

  5. The flaw in this theory is that it requires one to root for Alabama.

  6. Predictions made correctly
OBama check- only gave him 303 electoral votes , my bad.
    Tammy check
Senator Grothman - a reluctant check

Notre Dame National Champions. - predicted the first time Owen mentioned his guy - Johnny Football

    Manti Teo -Heisman.

    3 for 3 so far

    Why ND and Teo ?

-Bama isn’t the Bama of 2 years ago and ND can run and defend

    - there are enough voters who are constitutionally opposed to voting for a freshman for Heisman and who stunk against LSU vs a guy who stayed in school, got a degree, was the best player on the only undefeated team in the nation and who lost a family member and a girlfriend to death during the season.
    5 for 5 after January .

But I’d trade a ND national championship for the Heisman in a heartbeat.

  7. My dear sainted mother told me “Never, Ever root against holy mother, the Church”.  But my dad taught at Alabama, where I was born, roll Tide!  What am I to do??!!

    No.

There teams where I’d root against ND, but Bama ain’t one of them.

  10. I know it’s a word play on their cheer or whatever you call it, but it’s hardly accurate to say the Alabama rolled over Georgia. Georgia drove nearly the length of the field and had the ball at inside the Alabama 10 at the end of the game. If Richt & the GA coaches hadn’t gone brain dead Georgia would’ve had the clock stopped and at least 2 chances to score from the 8 yard line. Murray ran up to spike the ball - for some reason the coaches told him not to & the resulting hurried play ended with a receiver catching the ball in bounds & the clock running out.

You can’t assume a score there if the coached hadn’t screwed it up - but Alabama was very fortunate and the game was extremely close, so saying they rolled over the dawgs is off the mark.

Now my Badgers - they rolled over Nebraska.
