There’s Something About Fav-re

OK Packers fans.  Prediction time.  What should the Packers do?

What should the Packers do if Favre wants to return?
Start him
Sit him
Trade him
Release him

  1. Wow.  Already several people who think the Packers should bring him back, but bench him.

I didn’t think anyone would actually choose that answer.

  2. Yeah, that seems like pretty stupid choice wink

  3. Trade him to Minnesota.  Knock him into retirement in the 1st quarter of his first game (at Lambeau on MNF).

The Packers need to send a message that you can’t mess with their fans emotions like this. </sarcasm>

  4. Treat him like anyone else.  If he is better than Rogers, start him.  If he’s not bench him........screw the fans emotions.  If they trade or release him and he ends up in Chicago to win a championship we will see about the fragile emotions.

  5. I disagree.  Having Favre on the roster creates all sorts of headaches withing the organization.  Every time Rogers throws an interception the fans will be demanding that they put Favre in.  Not to mention the pressure that Rogers would feel with Favre on the sidelines watching.

Favre needs to be either in or out.  I prefer out.  If he wants in, trade him to get something for him.

  6. So just rip the band aid off and get the sting out of the way....

I’m a Favre and Packer Fan, but not a Fanatic.  I would love to see him play as well as he did last year.  He played GREAT ball for about 80-85% of the season.  If he did that again the packers will have a great season.

As far a coaching to the fans, the are always right...after it’s over.  They are going to complain no matter what, so if you think the pressure on Rodgers and from the fans will only be there if Farve is on the sidelines, you’re nuts.

The way this has been handled so far by the Front Office there is only one good scenario for Them

    Aaron Rodgers = Steve Young

If number 4 isn’t given a chance anything else will result in non stop belly aching

  7. I’m really disappointed in Favre. I always thought he put the team ahead of himself.

I keep thinking about his retirement press conference and how he said he still can play but he doesn’t want to, that the preparation pressure and watching films, etc., was too much for him.

What’s changed? Was that all a lie? Was it an act?

He has to know he’s putting the team in an extremely awkward position and he doesn’t seem to care.
