The time for games is over

My column for the Daily News is online.  It’s called, “The time for games is over.” Here’s the conclusion:

Ultimately, politicians will usually respond to what their constituents want, so it’s incumbent on all of us to be fiscally responsible and demand the same from them. We can’t be lured in by false promises of increased spending on the things we may value because the money simply isn’t there.

We have all been tightening our belts lately, and the state government must do the same if we are to avoid ending up like California or Greece. It’s time to elect serious leaders to do the serious work.

  1. I wonder if the hate spewing out about killing whites by some black groups has anything to do with the essential budget cuts that must come throughout the country.

Dude, I really have to LAUGH OUT LOUD considering this is what I responded to…

I wonder if the hate spewing out about killing whites by some black groups has anything to do with the essential budget cuts that must come throughout the country.

WOW!  Just WOW! I just assumed what you originally posted was just “sarcasm”, but I guess not.  While everyone is entitled to their own reality, it really must SUCK to be you…

Is “ofr” an acronym for “OH-FER”, as in the baseball vernacular, because, Man, you just posted a major SWING AND A MISS!?!?!  Seriously, you are really sicker than I thought.  Seek help…

  6. This was a pretty good article.  I’m surprised there hasn’t been more on this topic.

I’ve been tightening to the point of strangulation (it feels).  My family budget has been gone over.  Cable gone.  Harley gone.  Other Harley gone.  No family trips requiring passports for a couple years.  Safety blanket doubled.  Debt aggressively attacked.

And what is my tightening paying for?  Rant, rant, rant ...
