The Lone Gunman Returns to Wreak Havoc

It would be nice if a more detailed description of the suspect could be given by the media.  I’m sure that the golfers were more descriptive than that

A party of six, four golfers and two caddies, had reached the 16th tee at Brynwood Country Club shortly after 11 a.m. Saturday when a lone gunman emerged from nearby woods and said, “Give me your money,” police said.

Armed with a handgun and covering his face with a mask, the gunman robbed two of the golfers and one of the caddies before fleeing into the woods at the club, located at 6200 W. Good Hope Road.

  1. Another example of how the NW side of Milwaukee has done down hill. I remember when that area was almost rural, and the Uihleins played polo nearby.

    Oh…“reek havok”??

  2. Yeah, reek.  That’s why the guy was wearing the mask - needed to escape the smell of the deer carcass he found in the woods.

  3. Sounds like an excuse for that triple bogey on 16.

  4. red face  :zzdeadhorse:

Dang it… for those who know me, I’m a horrible speller - always have been.  I googled this and thought I got it right.  Sorry folks.  As I’ve said before, changing the title of a post is problematic, so I guess I’ll have to live with my shame in full display.

  7. Boy talk about getting doubly screwed!

First they get robbed for the greens fees then,

They get robbed on the 16th!

    Nice.

Call me cynical. But me guesses it turns out these guys weren’t robbed at all.

  9. Now there are 6 people, presumably 4 are holding golf clubs, while the other 2 are holding the bags, and you mean to tell me that it occurred to NO ONE to, oh I don’t know use THE CLUB FOR A FREAKIN’ WEAPON?

    Are you kidding me?

Getting robbed while on the golf course is bad enough, but having it hit the newspaper with the detail that there was 1 gunman and 6 yes 6 people standing around being robbed would make me die of embarrassment!

If I am one of the 6, I’m grabbing the driver and swingin’ for dudes head, and thinking “hit the ball” “hit the ball” oh please let me hit dudes head!

Like I said before I don’t think this happened.

  10. If you have never had a gun pointed at you Michael, you would have been lucky not to soil your pants in two paces..

I had an AK-47 pointed at my head and even though I had my own M-16 and a .38 Special, i froze until the danger passed. Lucky for me I had nothing in my system to soil my pants otherwise I surely would have.

Maybe this golf incident dd not happen. but your fantasy is more unbelievable.

  11. Actually John I have had a gun pointed at me. I came out of the Pick and Save on 76th and Cold Spring in August of 1997, about 9:30 PM.

I saw a man with his face pressed up against the glass of my car, and I asked him if he saw anything he wanted, and he replied “yes the car.” He then Pulled out a gun, and told me I was driving.

I did as I was told and he directed me to an alley on 5th and Washington where he and his gang banging buddies intended to do who knows what to me, (I am guessing robbery and Homicide were on the itinerary)

He then took the keys out of the ignition and threw them down the sewer grate that we were parked over, and motioned for his buddies to come over. (Thru all of this he had the gun still pointed at my head.)

In the mean time I took the spare key that I kept in my front pocket out and jammed it into the ignition as fast as I could, put the car in drive and got out as fast as I could.

While all this is happening the thug tried stopping me but was so stunned that he had NO idea what to do, and tried jumping out of the car but wasn’t able to for about a block and a half.

So John if one person keeps a cool head in a bad time it is possible to come out of it safely.

Although I do have to admit that there is alot of potential risk involved!

  12. Why weren’t these golfers packin’ heat?

Why weren’t you packin’ heat, Michael? Was this all Bill Clinton’s fault since it happened in 1997?

We all need to be packin’ heat and that’s all there is to it!!!

    LOL

  13. Michael, why didn’t you take a 9 iron to that gunman? In any case thank you for proving my theory. It was a shame that your friends on Krypton missed seeing you in action…

  14. Are you planning on sharing this “theory” with the rest of the class?

And whose wife were you caught doing to get an AK-47 pointed at your head?

  15. 1.  Theory: Maybe this golf incident dd not happen. but your fantasy is more unbelievable.

    2. Nobody’s wife was involved. I was serving my country. Where else would I be shouldering an M-16 and holstering a .38 Special side arm?  The hood?

BTW for those of you who are wondering why a .38 Special and not a .45, USAF issued .38 specials for flightline security in 1973-?
