The Gift that Keeps on Giving

Act 10.

The overages will be more spread out this year, however, as the passage of Act 10 means administrators can decide who gets extra classes, instead of seniority dictating eligibility. Like many other college administrators, Rafn said overages — and overall personnel costs — will drop because Act 10 allowed schools to extend the number of classes covered by base salary and decrease the amount paid for overages.

You consider more work for less pay to be a gift?!

With that in mind, please don’t feel like you have to get me anything for Christmas next year…

You are just totally unaware of the real world.
In private industies people are constantly being asked to do more work for the same pay. If you don’t like it you are free to seek employment else where.

  3. And the fact that it is reality makes it a gift?

  4. Purple, fu,

So you would rather be IL, where they are slashing essential services with a random axe and still have an insurmountable budget disaster after raising taxes?

WI is a beacon of hope to the nation that government can be reformed.

  5. So you would rather be IL,

No, I would rather you answer the questions:)

  6. fu,

    Welcome to the real world.

More taxes and more regulation, especially with Obamacare, constantly force me to work more for less pay.

I have yet to find a public employee that quit their job because of pay.  (If they did, there would be 500 people instantly lined up for the job.)  Public employees realize they have a good thing compared to private sector.

If Act 10 is a problem, quit, get a job in private sector, and you will realize Act 10 still allows generous public employee pay by comparison.

It’s a gift because public employee jobs in WI are no longer at risk of being cut like they are in IL from a crushing budget deficits caused by overspending Democrats.

Well Kev, if you consider that a gift, I hope your cup runneth over:)

  8. fu,

The point is:  the public sector lives on the back of private sector.

The public sector has been taking from private sector, recklessly, the last 25 years.

All that has been done with Act 10 is: a temporary pause in the reckless growth of government.

It’s not like the poor taxpayers took anything back.  Personally, given how insulting public union leaders have been to the rest of us over Act 10, it appears they are completely ungrateful for not fleecing the private sector slaves harder.

We just want a break from the government whip.

You can go back to whipping us private sector taxpaying slaves soon enough with Obamacare.

This is the Democratic playbook, no compassion for the people who sweat, earn, and toil, to pay their extreme tax burden.

It is a gift, because public unions were on the verge of killing the golden goose of the private sector with its unyielding, taxing, appetite.

Instead of a “thank you”, its nothing but a drawing of the whip and telling us taxpayers to work harder.

    That’s gratitude for you.

  9. I’m still waiting for this blog to post about the other gift that keeps on giving.  That wonderful, well-spoken senator of ours named Glenn Grothman.  What a special treat he is!

  10. CJS,

    Glenn was right!

    1/3/13 The Capital Times:

“He [Grothman] directly attacks the basic principles of religious liberty in his ill-advised screed.”  emphasis added

——Stephanie Findley, Chairman of the State Democratic Party Black Caucus

Remember Democrat leaders are saying this is religion.  now look at the “Kwansaa worship” at Madison’s Falk Elementary School.

    https://www.madison.k12.wi.us/node/8430

Since when did my anti-religious establishment become tolerant of this religion.

Glenn is correct.  Only liberal religions are defended in public school!  Kwanzaa is one of those liberal religions.  (It probably qualifies because the founder of Kwansaa is anti-Christ.)

Glenn did an excellent public service.
