Well, Jackson, actually. It’s today from 11-1, so it’s just wrapping up. I drove past there around 10:15 and the parking lot was filling up. Unfortunately, I couldn’t make it.
Hope everyone had a great time!
Large turnout, Walker and Johnson were among the many speakers, TV12 was there.
There is hope for Washington County!
I echo OFR. The one criticism I have is that there were no emergency first aid/EMT-types working the event.
Mark Block said 4000 attended, I’d say 2500-ish, but I’m not in the business of knowing.
David King was his usual awesome self, “Thomas Paine” was in great form and 2 college students spoke and were very well received. But the fact is, the time for rallies and protests is just about over. Time for the hard work of educating our friends and neighbors and getting out the vote.
Were there a lot of African-American folks in attendance?
Were there a lot of African-American folks in attendance?
Wow.
I’d welcome any demographics. Average age, income, location. I find them interesting.
Nobody identified themselves as such, only as Americans. It wasn’t about Diversity, it was about unity.
Well, I’m sure that makes everyone feel good about themselves, or something, but that’s not what I was asking.
Well, I’m sure that makes everyone feel good about themselves, or something, but that’s not what I was…
...implying.
So you aren’t able to answer my question?
Here are some links to videos of Rev. David King and Scott Walker. I would say that anyone there just considered themselves americans and in fact one of the speakers said as much. My crowd estimate is about 2500. The demographics seemed to match the county.

Being people who believe in liberty no one kept anyone from attending. Everyone was welcomed no matter who they were, and no one was forced to attend in order to reach a certain artificial quota. Apparently you are unable to grasp the concept of an aversion to nanny Government which brings these individuals together. You need not belong to any special group to attend, unless you consider those who unerringly love America to be special.
Don’t worry, Mr. anon - I’m sure there weren’t any “real” black people there. ![]()
Wow.
It was a yes or no question. He’s wondering if minorities were present. Can anyone answer?
George
It was a yes or no question. He’s wondering if minorities were present. Can anyone answer?
Odd how those who keep calling for equality aren’t satisfied when it’s reached.
The only “colors” of importance were RED, WHITE, and BLUE, beyond that no one cared.
One of the main speakers who was very well received was black. The crowd comprised of people of all ages, incomes and occupations. I saw bikers wearing there colors to a doctor I see.
The crowd enthusiastically applauded when asked if they would fight for there freedom.
The founders of this nation that signed the declaration of Independence knew they were signing there death warrant and I saw a lot of people who were willing to sign there names under them.
It was encouraging.
OK. I’ll answer the question: Yes. There were those of Black heritage, Hispanic heritage, Asian heritage as well as German, Polish, Italian, .....
Satisfied? I “get” that we’re a bunch of racists anyway.
I will start demanding the media in the future catalogue the amount of people at Feingold or Barret rallies who derive less than 10 percent of their household income from the State or Federal government.
I am guessing we might have more African Americans at tea party rallies.
It is noteworthy that the lefty is driving the race debate here…
I couldn’t disagree more Deekaman. The insistence of Liberals to portray TEA party attendees as such is on it’s face an outright LIE, and to humor them as you have done does a disservice to all who attend these rallies. Perception is reality, and they are using that to distort the true intent of the movement. Please, don’t give them help they don’t need. It is their policies and agenda that are going to destroy this country, and up until the point where they found they could buy support with entitlement programs funded by your tax dollars the basic system this country operated by worked very well. With a little tweeking it will continue to do so, and even get us out of the mess we find ourselves in now.
Thanks for the honest answer, Deekaman! That’s all I asked.
I’ll let the defensive crowd worry about the “implications” or whatever it is they’re worried about. To be honest, though, the “we only identify as Americans” response is PURE GOLD.
I’ll let the defensive crowd worry about the “implications” or whatever it is they’re worried about.
You are the race-baiter that brought it up….
Back to Tea Party - I thought Glenn Grothman’s speech connecting the lack of family structure in America to larger government outlays was the highlight of the speeches.
You are the race-baiter that brought it up….
I only asked a question. Others decided it implied something and became defensive.
No. You race baited.
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

Anon; August 8, 2010
Looks like we still have a little way to go.
It seem as though Mark Block has lost some of his momentum after his blunder of featuring Tommy Thompson at Madison earlier this year. As Joe the Plumber said, people are reluctant to put faith in career politicians and those backed by the two parties because none of them have done anything but work to maintain their power.
This said it still appears the people are still not smart enough to break from being led to vote for the “endorsed” candidate. Dave Westlake who actually is the candidate who’s approach mirrors the movement’s ideology is largely being ignored in favor of Ron Johnson, and so the same scenario plays out again as the actors change but the play remains the same.
No. You race baited.
Are you used to getting your way?
Looks like we still have a little way to go.
Who was judging? Shall we go back to other race-related threads on this blog and see what some of your pals have said?
MLK Jr. never suggested we didn’t acknowledge or celebrate our races!
Is the Bill Savage who posted at 8-8-10 at 11:29 a.m. the same Bill Savage who is the absentee owner of one of the dumpiest bars in West Allis? Glad to hear you’re family friendly! Now make that “Hellhole-in the Wall” friendly to all the families and neighbors who actually live near your piece of junk property. By neighbors, I mean persons who live in the neatly tended homes surrounding the bar and NOT your trashy rooming house tenants.
Love and Kisses!!!!!!
MLK Jr. never suggested we didn’t acknowledge or celebrate our races!
Yes, but what you are doing is making judgments based upon it… pretty much the exact opposite of what he striving for.
Anon post racial grade: Fail.
Please don’t bother with the “Who? Me?” response either. Quite plain to see that you are operating on the liberal template.
Can someone explain why Joe “the Plumber is called as much.
Since he became a political philosopher- did he go back and get his license?
is he headliner material and if so, isn’t the tea party bench pretty thin?
No offense- what insight does Joe have-other than being a prop for a sagging presidential campaign?
His 15 minutes of fame were over 2 years ago
I think a group has every right to pursue it’s own self interests in a legal peaceful manner.
Folks are angry- and angry folks vote.
If I point out the other guys faults and tell you he or she’s the reason for your misery, you might forget that I actually had the wheel for the majority of the last decade’s nosedive into the economic ditch)
2 wars plus tax cuts for wall street brokers cleverly sold as “small business owners “plus entitlement adds for seniors was the recipe conservatives cooked up -but o, of course-those were only play conservatives.
We need to let those “other” conservatives have a chance NOW because they had the answers and Bush abondoned his principles . Yada, Yada, Yada
This is, and always has been, about politics, not about freedom or loving the country more >
That patriotic drivel is the national equivalent of ending a school discussion with “But I’m in it for the kids”
And I’m not?
What was really funny was John Boehner on TV today trying to explain why we should continue tax cuts for me with borrowed money?
(the phrase, “tongue tied like a schoolboy came to mind”
And lets not even go there on the beat down young Paul Ryan got last week at the hands of that Bearded left economist Karl Marx Krugman.
a thin bench indeed
Mr. Savage - you are right not to respond to “Mortified West Allis Resident”. Knowing who this person is ....a Jim Sullivan supporter that knows he is doomed the fall!
Yes, but what you are doing is making judgments based upon it… pretty much the exact opposite of what he striving for.
Really? What judgment could I possibly be making?
This should get a very “interesting” reply…
There it is. The ‘who,me?’ response we’ve been anticipating by race-baiting anon…
This is an issue of freedom that the left is in the process of rapidly taking away from all of us.
It’s simply a matter if you support or resist the government takeover of your freedom and essentially your life.
All the rest of the BS is from “Mandy Pandy land” that progressives want to divert your attention with.
There it is. The ‘who,me?’ response we’ve been anticipating by race-baiting anon…
And there’s that convenient reply, avoiding the impossibility of explaining the nonsense, that we’ve been anticipating by troll Smeety…
With your justification, anyone can make up any nonsense about you that they wouldn’t have to explain. BS.
I just want to know how I could possibly be judging anyone by their race by asking how many African Americans were at a local rally. Not everything is about you.
If I’m obviously race-baiting, than you’re all obviously racist. No debate.
See how easy that is to post nonsense?
How is your race-baiting about me?
You’re not allowed to ask questions and get replies here, racist.
It’s not about you. Anon reply was a diversion. Diversion almost always follows “Who? Me?”. It’s the way liberals argue…. saying what they mean would be distasteful to most thinking people so they make veiled accusation and then claim shock when you call their bluff. The end goal is to try and lure you into making their ridiculous (or in this case, racist) statement for them.
Note that anon offers little in the way of substance…. he just tries to offer slanted questions and nonsensical replies.
It’s a dead giveaway.
Let’s see if anon can explain why there should have been a count of attendees based upon ethnicity or skin color… and why did he specifically ask for the number of African Americans.
If he does, I suspect he’ll sound like a racist…. if he doesn’t I suspect he’ll sound like he is trying to hide the fact that he is a race-baiter.
The real goal of his foolish questions is to minimize and discredit the goals of the tea party movement by associating it with the outrageous character assassination program started by the NAACP. The movement is popular, and it’s goals are popular as well. The arguments in opposition are weak and viewed poorly by most Americans. Since it would be difficult to win the intellectual debate on the matter, the left has chosen to sling mud. Quite typical actually….don’t be fooled or distracted for a second.
It was more rhetorical than anything, anyways…
Doesn’t the absence of “people of color” at these events say more about them than it does about those in attendance? One goal is to cut back or eliminate unneeded entitlements that steal a portion of a worker’s income to perpetuate Government dependence, and that in itself could account for their reluctance to attend? I’m sure it also keeps a lot of no income Whites from attending as well, but it’s hard to say seeing as how you can’t tell a person’s employment state by their looks.
No one really wants to answer your goofy questions because your next move is to accuse the poster, or the rally of being a racist.
You are a baiter, so much so that you’ve become a “master” of the tactic. ![]()
If one is to assume there are very few African American folks at the “Tea Party” rallies, why would this be the case? Obviously, population density plays a part in this. Are there “Tea Party” rallies in predominately African-American locales that are primarily attended by African Americans?
I’ve never been to one of these rallies, so I don’t know the answers to these questions.
I have absolutely no interest in discrediting the “Tea Party movement”. I very much want them to exist. Any sort of “character assassination” is self-inflicted by mistakes like referring to themselves as “teabaggers”.
It’s just simple curiosity. It didn’t need any explanation. I checked the census records for West Bend, but that information isn’t reported as the sample size is too small, apparently.
No one really wants to answer your goofy questions because your next move is to accuse the poster, or the rally of being a racist.
Really? Deekaman answered the question above and none of your scenarios played out.
anon:
Really? Deekaman answered the question above and none of your scenarios played out.
Which means nothing more than you can occasionally control yourself.
It also means you were entirely incorrect. Again.
You’re not allowed to ask questions and get replies here, racist.

This liberal’s not a “race baiter,” he’s just a jerk. Drop it, let him be; November’s coming and he’s headed for the sidelines along with his socialist friends in the Congress.

And you’re not allowed to miss my joke and then post a joke of your own!
“Socialist friends in the Congress”. LOL!
This liberal’s not a “race baiter,” he’s just a jerk. Drop it, let him be; November’s coming and he’s headed for the sidelines along with his socialist friends in the Congress.
Right on the money Duke.
Alot of us love summer, but I can’t wait till November!
I don’t have A/C, so I get to “enjoy” it a little more. As for that other fellow, he’s been commenting on this since last Friday night. If the question were of such interest to him you would think he would have been there like the rest of us!
Always remember the quote, which could be the motto of the Tea Parties: “We’re not red states or blue states, we’re the United States of America.”
Attending would show support for such a misguided “movement”, which is not something I could bear.
I don’t live anywhere near West Bend anymore, either.
Do you think conservatives spend as much time on liberal blog sites attempting to belittle and outwit them as anon does on this sit?
It would obviously be much easier for a conservative to do so then anon’s attempts here but for some reason I think the answer is NO!
What makes you think I don’t do the same thing on liberal blog sites?
Studies indicate folks with high IQs tend to lean more liberal than conservative, by the way.
I’m reminded of that every time Gwen Moore speaks…
Always remember the quote, which could be the motto of the Tea Parties: “We’re not red states or blue states, we’re the United States of America.”
So you have absolutely no problem if all states turned blue?
This must be the rapid response team we heard about, talk about all bark and no bite. They certainly dont live up to the hype.

Strawman argument. Bzzzzzt…, no goal. Try again, liberal troll.

I’ll take that as a yes, you’d have no problem what so ever.
