Also, if you don’t want to go all the way to Madison, there are a number of other Tea Parties throughout the state. The good folks in Fond du Lac have organized one:
The Fond du Lac TEA Party Rally being planned for 5:30pm on Wednesday, April 15 at Veterans Park, downtown Fond du Lac, is now in the final planning stages. TEA stands for Taxed Enough Already. Being held in honor of the Boston Tea Party, the rally is intended to give concerned citizens a chance to voice their frustration with the high taxes that are being imposed by government officials and the loss of everyday freedoms that accompany intrusive government actions. The rally will include appearances by Benjamin Franklin and Betsy Ross, patriotic sing-alongs, brief inspirational speeches by freedom-loving citizens, and opportunities to contact government officials with personalized messages. Momentum is building for the TEA Party and citizens from surrounding counties are inquiring and making plans to attend.
All citizens who truly believe that the path of endless spending and debt are not the path we desire as Americans are invited to attend, regardless of political affiliation. Rally attendees are encouraged to bring signs bearing their personal messages and even dress up in Revolutionary costume, if so desired, to enhance the theme of the rally.
Over 1800 TEA Party rallies are being held across the nation on April 15, including a state-wide rally earlier in the day on the steps of the state capitol in Madison. For further information on the Fond du Lac TEA Party, email (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
You’ll notice that this is timed so that if you want to, you can attend two Tea Parties!!!!
If you can make it, please show up and tell our elected officials that we’ve had enough with the higher taxes and fees.
My son’s godparents are taking him to the Madison rally. I would love to be part of this, but I wish to keep my job. He is almost 15 and politically motivated. This will be a wonderful experience for him.

Snicker.
Funny, like Christmas this event was ripped off and co-opted from someone else:

Posted by Owen on April 14, 2009 at 1403 hrsI have an honest question, and my hope is that people don’t all bent out of shape over it.
I heard Mr. Block speak this morning on Wisconsin “Public” Radio.
Admittedly, the audience is rather left-wing and gave him a hard time, at least that is my feeling.
I distinctly remember Mr. Block saying the Americans for Prosperity doesn’t deal with social issues.
That’s why I decided to skip the rally. Now I see that according to Owen, Julie Appling and Tony Ungerer will be speakers. I will definitely attend now.
Here’s my question: Does Americans for Prosperity take a stand on social issues or not?
Mr. Block? Owen?
Posted by (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) on April 14, 2009 at 1435 hrsMarc,
My experience is that they focus primarily on fiscal issues, but are certainly in agreement with other conservative social issue. The Tea Parties, from what I understand, are directed at fiscal issues.
Posted by Owen on April 14, 2009 at 1516 hrsMark Block also lied to me on the radio (or maybe to all of you). When I said we should be sending less people to prison in order to cut spending he said he’d be open to looking at it.
Oh? How come he ran David Clarke’s rant against the Governor’s plan for early release a couple of weeks back on the Americans for Selective Prosperity newsletter?
By the way, hope on his jacket he has patches ala NASCAR to recognize all of the corporate sponsors.
