  1. Yeah, but still decades away from covering the cost of Bush’s quagmire in Iraq.

  2. I know, hey?

In fact, if we triple our military spending, it’ll be almost as expensive as entitlements are.

Luckily, Wisconsin is finally coming to terms with ITS tax issues, by almost buying a new accounting system...

  4. No, we’re weeks away from covering the current PRICE of government. Unfortunately, the costs of government are too high to ever be paid. wink

  5. I got mine done last night.  I was really looking for a tax & spend liberal senator to sock in the mouth.

This is absurd to pay that much in taxes in a non-socialist country.

It’s times like these where I start to understand why some want Texas to secede from the Union.

  6. Gunny,

Every politician in Wisconsin, Republican or Democrat is as you say tax and spend liberals.

I agree they need to be hit, but in the back of the head, it gets the point across and it doesn’t leave a mark.

I love your line about seceding from the Union, but most of our problems with regard to high taxes stem from unions.
    Teachers, Municiple workers,  etc…

How do we secede from them?

  7. Mike,

Did you make your daily quota of posting to blogs with at least the words “Bush” and “quagmire”?

What is the daily quota up to now?  10, 15.

Say hi to Nancy for me.

  8. That’s the nice thing about blogs, they afford you the opportunity to use words like “quagmire” without receiving the same measure of disdain as you would in the real world.

We’ve got a guy in our church who’s wanting to do a church plant in Madison, WI.  If that’s the political climate up there, I may have to wish him well from afar.

Back of the head, eh?  Shrewd.  Sounds like somebody’s gained some wisdom via experience over the years.  Very nice.

We’re a right to work state in Texas, so we’re not so down with the union action.  I think they’ve outlived their purpose anymore.

  9. I thought you were in WI?
In WI, I’ve got another month or 2 to catch up to what the government bills me for this year.  I caught up to my U.S. debt last month.
Just because doyley says so, does not mean a fee is not a tax.

  10. Sorry to disappoint, OT in Wis, but I visit Owen and Jed’s blog regularly because we are fellow Aggies and I think they have a pretty good site. So, no quotas for me.
As for the word “quagmire”, how else would you describe a military conflict that was supposed to last six months and is now in its sixth year with no end in sight?
And the $3 trillion price tag for this mess isn’t going to show up in the pie chart that J. Gravelle links to because it is all conveniently off budget.
