Small World

I’ll have much more about the convention later, but I wanted to share a quick story with y’all.  I left the convention this evening to go to a family/friends event.  On my way home, I received a call from a Republican friend who had met one of my old friends and was looking for me!

As it turns out, one of my old pissheads (if you don’t know what I mean, you can skip the rest of this post) is in Milwaukee for business.  He knows I’m a Republican and is staying at the Hyatt in Milwaukee.  In the elevator, it occurred to him that I might be there.  He noticed a couple of his fellow elevator-mates had convention badges on, so he asked them if there was a list of attendees and if they happen to know me.  As it turned out, they did!  One of the folks in the elevator is a friend of mine who called me and handed his phone to my old friend.  We exchanged numbers and chatted for a while.  Hopefully we’ll get the chance to grab a meal or something this week while he’s in town.
