Small Arms

10 points for the first person to name every weapon.

Of course, the points are like my appendix.  They don’t matter.

UPDATE: I put the original in the extended entry where you can read the labels.

  1. Gun, #1, Gun #2, Gun #3,...

    Do I win?

  2. Capper, that was totally going to be my comment. Either great minds think alike, or neither of us is very original.  wink

  3. Top to bottom M-14, M-1 Garand, AK-47 Kalashnikov, .45 cal ‘Grease gun’ Thompson, not sure on the pistols, some type Luger?

  4. No on all counts, except for the Luger, but you didn’t give the model.

  5. I could’ve done this in ten seconds if someone wouldn’t have blurred out all the damn text… wink

  7. Ooo, ooo! Let me try:

    1. Ultra-Super Teacher Killer (Columbine/Virgina Tech classic edition)

    2. MegaMax Street Fighter (guaranteed to tear through initial target and hit kid on porch)

    3. Concealed Carry Special (special silencer setting for accidents, suicides and “heated discussions”)

    4. Hunting Rifle (dust-resistant for card-games, drinking and for when the other guns are a’blazin’)

    5. FoolYourself Home Protector (did you get it out in time? No? Ooops, sorry)

    6.  Super Recoil Kid Trainer (go get ‘em, lil killer!)

    Etc.

Where can I pick up my prize?

  8. The top rifle is a German 7.92mm KAR 98k

The second rifle from the top is a German rifle - Gewehr 43

The 3rd from the top is a German MP44

The second lowest handgun is the 9mm German Parabellum Model 08 Pistol (Luger P08)

The lowest handgun on the display is a West German 9mm P38 (P-1) of the West German Army

The lowest submachine gun to the right of the pistols is a Bergmann 9mm MP18l

  9. Silencer?  Where?  Hunting?  Concealed carry?

My goodness you should stick to topics about which you aren’t so ignorant.

Posted by Owen on June 03, 2008 at 2318 hrs

  10. Oops, forgot the 4th gun from the top is the German 9mm Model 38 Machine pistol.

What would you like to know about them?  wink

  11. Ooooo… you’re very close.  Check the sub machine gun.

Posted by Owen on June 03, 2008 at 2323 hrs

  12. Quick guesses (too late to do much more).

Mauser K98, or 24/47. Hard to tell at this resolution. There were so many close variants of that weapon that it could be any one of hundreds of variants.

Gewehr 43. (I pity the fool who had the 41)

    StG 43.

    MP-40. A fine weapon.

??? Some descendent of the MP18, but I can’t know which. Maybe an FG-42?

    P08 (Luger).

    P38 (Walther).

  14. Scratch that I’ll say Model 34

  15. If i recall correclty that missing pistol is a Maschinenpistole (MP) 18 as was stated above, possibley the rare mark 2 version of that MP.

But that bolt handle in the vertical position bugs me, that makes it look like a Sten with wood stocks and a full barrel shroud, but why a british gun thrown in all the german ones?

  19. Kar98k
    Gewehr 43 (a.k.a. Karabiner 43)
    Sturmgewehr StG44
    MP40
    MP 18

    Pistoles are:

    Luger P08
    Walther P38

  20. Close.

  21. Funny.  Small arms in one post, and then big arms in the next.  I’d take these guns over those guns, though.

  22. Is the MP18 really an MP28? They are so darn close, it’s hard to tell.

Posted by Patrick on June 04, 2008 at 0949 hrs

  23. Or is the MP40 really an MP38?

Posted by Patrick on June 04, 2008 at 0952 hrs

  24. Ok, the one I missed has to be an Machinenpistole EMP

  25. MP35

Posted by .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) on June 04, 2008 at 1007 hrs

  26. OK… OK… I’ll stop torturing y’all.

    Model 98K Carbine 7.92
    Model 43 Semiautomatic rifle
    MP44 Machine Pistol
    Erma EMP44 Submachine gun
    MP40 Machine Pistol
    Luger Model G8 Pistol
    Walther Model P38 Pistol

Posted by Owen on June 04, 2008 at 1008 hrs

  27. ok I can type EMP35

Is the MP18 really an MP28? They are so darn close, it’s hard to tell.

I believe its the EMP35 because to my knowledge that’s the only one with the forward grip.

All the other variants of the MP18 do not have that forward grip.

Or is the MP40 really an MP38?

Yeah I struggled with that one.  I think it might be an MP40 because of the ribbing on the magazine receiver.  The guns were essentially the same weapon save a few cost-saving changes with more stamped parts than machined.

  29. Erma EMP44 Submachine gun

I strongly disagree.  Thats no EMP44

    Definitely an EMP35

I bet a beer on it!

  32. Agreed.  Unless someone seriously customized their EMP35.

You need to send a letter to the War Memorial Museum for the 82nd Airborne at Ft. Bragg.

  33. You need to send a letter to the War Memorial Museum for the 82nd Airborne at Ft. Bragg.

eh… If they got the American weapons wrong I’d take issue with them! wink

Can we have a “name that weapon” feature on B&S;?

I mean since Jed doesn’t have time for the “name that location” feature.

Plus with a “name that weapon” the liberals would have nothing intelligent to contribute and principled conversation could be had amongst freedom lovers.

Come to think of it, I guess that would be just like any other post.  snake

    Just kidding (sorta)
