Slum Lord Holloway Due in Court

Just think… this detestable man will be the next acting Milwaukee County Executive

City of Milwaukee building inspectors are taking Milwaukee County Board President Lee Holloway to court to try to get him to clean up five properties he and his wife, Lynda, own on W. Atkinson Ave.

The apartment buildings are home to many people with chronic mental illness who are enrolled in the county’s community mental health program.

“He’s had plenty of time to fix these,” Todd Weiler, public information officer for the city’s Department of Neighborhood Services, told the Journal Sentinel.

The violations were first issued in October 2009. The buildings have been reinspected every month since then. In cases where a problem has not been fixed, the complaint is held open.

City inspectors sent Holloway a letter this week telling him that he is due in Municipal Court on Jan. 27 to face penalties for building code violations at five properties.

Holloway has been cited for 116 violations ranging from rodent and roach infestation to loose window trim and moldy walls, according to city officials and inspection records.

  1. The Milwaukee Journal could perform some true progressive journalism by using the resources they wanted to expend on the Scott Walker meter on doing weekly updates on Lee Holloway and his corruption.

MJS has the power to take this guy down by shining the spotlight on him on a consistent basis.  The City and County would be the better for it.

  2. The people who vote for this crook don’t read the Urinal. They would vote for him no matter what he did.

  3. Thankfully, the incoming administration will be pursuing tort reforms making it much harder to go after hardworking businessmen like Holloway.  Be careful what you wish for, Kids.

  4. Bill, I would think that the people who made him County Board President would be capable of reading the JS. They are the ones who need to take some responsibility.

  5. I didn’t say they weren’t capable. I said they didn’t read the rag.

Obviously they need to take responsibility. But when has that every happened in Holloway’s district?
