Remember the flap a few years ago about the guy who was paid to write a song about Wisconsin and we ended up with a song that sounded suspiciously like an old British song (which he denied)?
Orlando seems to have skipped the middle man. They went right to the British band and got the real deal. I wonder if the Wisconsin guy gets a cut for having the idea first?
I don’t know… it might be considered patriotic. After all, the Star Spangled Banner is sung to the tune of a British drinking song called The Anacreontic Song.
Posted by Nick on May 07, 2008 at 0828 hrsI know the guy who wrote the Wisconsin song.
He’s a great guy who lost a son in a senseless shooting in Riverwest years ago.
What people don’t know is that the agency that hired him directed him to make the song the way it turned out.
Trust me, John Tanner is one of the most decent people I’ve ever met.
