Shhhhh….

What an odd statement.

Bootie Chief Executive Officer Tania Torruella said she couldn’t comment because the firm is in a quiet period.

A quiet period?  I think I’ll start using that.

    The period starting when an issuer hires an underwriter and ending 25 days after the security begins trading, during which the issuer cannot comment publicly on the offering due to SEC rules.

  2. I have used that term in IT to mean a time of high vis or need for high availability. No new code, changes, or upgrades to applications or hardware may be done during a quiet period. This only applies to stuff that actually needs to be done and does not apply to higher ups pushing through implementing things that they read about in a magazine though.
