I read a post earlier today on another blog that talked about War Games from 1983. Unfortunately, I forgot where I read it! If I remember, I’ll put up a link.
Anyway, the post talked about all of the technology in the movie and the memories it invoked. The modem, monitors, displays, stereo, keyboard, and on and on and on. Sure enough. Check out this clip.
Ahhhhh… the memories.
And this harkens back to another age.

UPDATE: Here’s the post that made me think of this from Just a Girl in the World.
mmm…I miss Tab.
We just saw that on AMC the other week. I agree, it’s a good flick that brings back a lot of memories.

This may be a stab in the dark, but was it this?
At the bottom of the first page is a sketch of a potential iMac with a built-in audio modem complete with quip about playing thermonuclear war with renegate Pentagon computers.
I always got a kick out of the sound FX the WOPR made.
Was it this blog?

I still watch that movie at least once a year.
That was it! Thanks.
Heh. Great movie.
Speaking of old computer geek stuff, check out this Tandy ad from 1989. It’s only $8500 for a computer less powerful than my cell phone.
