This shouldn’t have happened in the first place, but it’s good that they backed off.
The state Public Service Commission reversed course Friday and will not force a Green Bay utility to lobby the Legislature in support of Gov. Jim Doyle’s global warming task force.
Robert Norcross, administrator of the PSC gas-and-energy division, said the provision, part of a decision in a rate case involving Wisconsin Public Service Corp., was removed to avoid any misunderstanding.
“It was never the commission’s intent to require this,” Norcross said. “They were just trying to encourage some involvement.”
Global Warming - pfffft
It should be called “All of us who just want to tell the rest of you what we think is best for you and how you should live. But let a very select few of us get really rich off of carbon trading because that is the only free enterprise that we don’t feel is evil.”
It will be interesting to see if the Green Bay utility gets want they wanted or if the PSC rejects their proposal with another far fetched reason like they did to the Cassville Power Plant. I feel that the PSC will have their revenge for the utility bringing this to public notice.
Of course what can the peasants do to these bureaucrats? None of them are elected, all are appointed by the governor.
