Protecting Whitey’s Women Folk

As usual, Elliot nails it.

Some folks are claiming that the use of Britney Spears and Paris Hilton in John McCain’s infamous “Celebrity” ad against Barack Obama is actually a thinly-veiled attempt to resurrect whitey’s ancient fear that “black men are stealing our women folk.”

I suppose I might admit they had a point, if the commercial didn’t happen to show the only two chicks I can think of that no self-respecting man of any race – white, black, or Martian – would be interested in sleeping with.

Oops… I was supposed to say, “indeed.”

  2. Trust me, I never “nailed” either of them.

    Shiver.

  3. I thought the McCain ad was funny and made a good point.

How someone can take this as Obama is coming to get your white wife is obviously the work of someone who only sees things as a race issue and nothing else.

I have low hopes for us progressing as a society.

  4. I agree with Owen, this is nothing like the ant-Ford ad in Tennessee last election.

People are trying to create something out of nothing.  A little wishful thinking.
