Presidential Poll 3—23 Apr 08

1. For those who voted Clinton in this poll, is there any reasoning behind your vote? Clinton will have to win 70% of the vote in each state to overtake Obama in the pledged delegate lead. Even if she wins 60-40, she will need almost 200 more superdelegates to clinch the nomination. I’m not saying that it can’t happen, but she’s only broken 60% in one contest so far, in Arkansas.

2. I’m guessing it’s some combination of she’s Clinton and they’re Democrats. Therefore the seemingly absurd and impossible will happen.

3. I think Clinton will win the nomination in this way… Neither candidate will enter the convention with enough elected delegates to outright win the nomination. Therefore, the convention will choose a nominee with the super delegates. The super delegates are nothing but the good old boys of the Democratic party. We all know the skills the Clintons (yes, both of them) have in “back-room” politics. Clinton will take the nomination out of the back room.

4. I chose Obama but I had to think about it.  Knowing how sleazy the Clinton’s are, they just might “get lucky”.

5. If Docs’ theory were to come true then I would have to bet that the democrats will think about staying home on election day.

   I see that Ron Paul is still in it with over 100,000 votes in PA. What if something happened to McCain between now and the convention? He is pretty old and things can happen. Would the Republican Party rally around Ron Paul or Mike Huckabee at that point? I don’t think it will happen but......
