I admit… I love this story.
Madison - A Republican campaign contributor officially filed a recall effort Friday against Gov. Scott Walker, triggering a powerful tool for the GOP leader: unlimited campaign fundraising.
The effect of the filing is to give Walker an extra week and half to raise campaign contributions with no limits that can be used to help defend against a more serious recall attempt against the governor scheduled to begin on Nov. 15. Friday’s petition was filed by David Brandt of Muskego in Waukesha County. Brandt is a modest contributor to Walker and the state Republican Party.
In the filing with the state Government Accountability Board, Brandt wrote cryptically that he was registering a recall committee - Close Friends to Recall Walker - to “fulfill my friend’s last request.”
So the Democrats, who want to abuse the recall process to their own ends and are crying foul when the rules are used against them.
I’m amused.
I am particularly interested to see how much moola gets thrown at this exercise?
Has politics become our Coliseum?
Do the Dems now have until January 4th to get all 540,000 signatures or does their 60 day clock start on November 15th with the filing of their recall effort?
I still have humorous visions of Capper camping out overnight to turn in his recall papers. H/T to RS from a few months back.
Nice post and Has politics become our Coliseum?
Oh oh. Someone needs his nook, binky and a nap. The more pertinent question is will Capper be working to collect recall signatures when he is supposed to be on the clock as a Milwaukee County social worker? It’s not like he has a history of doing political work while supposedly on the job:

We all knew it was coming, and now the fight is on. For folks who feel it’s ridiculous that he is being recalled for getting our fiscal house in order, sign my online petition and forward it to your friends. We need to show that we stand behind the reforms that have helped to put us back on the road to prosperity.

Would you please delete that troll comment? I think y’all know better than thinking that was me, and I really don’t want to be getting comments forwarded to my email.
Thanks! Have a lovely day.
