Pole-A-Palooza 2007

It’s nice to see that pole dancing is moving into the mainstream culture.

Clear evidence that pole dancing has made its way out of smoke-filled strip clubs and into the heart of America’s playland: “Pole-A-Palooza” 2007.

The packed JET night club in the Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on Tuesday hosted 25 bikini-clad contestants who showed that it takes not only beauty but incredible strength to be a winner.

Each contestant got the chance to use legs, arms and torsos to climb up, down and around a metal pole in carefully choreographed routines.

Maybe this will become the norm at prom.

  1. Maybe this will become the norm at prom.

To be honest, I’m kinda surprised that it hasn’t already.

  2. The real question is:

Would you rather have your daughter doing this on a pole, or some guy?

  3. Well, all our daughters are going to do it anyway, right?

  4. Just think, this wasn’t even news in Vegas.  I guess when it happens again, I’ll be headed down to the Mirage.

  5. You by any chance not emulating FoxNews to spice up the site?

  6. Whoa, an inverted spread eagle!  Very nice.

  7. Hey, I know her.  She’s not even Polish!

  8. This is NOT something I would expect to see from a website that is listed on Wispolitics.com as a conservative site.

You ought to be ashamed no matter!

I won’t look any further on your site, as I don’t want to be further insulted, but this must be one of those LIE-beral DEMON-crat, anything goes loosey-goosey sites.

I assume that an abortuary is conveniently located next door to the ‘establisment’ hosting this satanic worshipping event you have pictured.

I will have you know that our pro-family organization monitors political websites, and yours certainly will NOT be included as a link for Wisconsin!

  9. Except that you are not Phyllis Schlafly, unless she moved to Madison.  Somehow I don’t think you’re pulling the strings over at the Eagle Forum.

Furthermore, isn’t observing and tracking our culture a worthy endeavor?

    Grow up.

  10. Is posting a picture of a bikini clad woman upside down and spread eagled a worthy endeavor?

I am not judging and saying it isn’t, but it does seem to run counter to some of the other principles espoused on this site.

Maybe you should have a pole dancer of the week.  I am just joking… keep up the good work.  I do enjoy the site.

The only difference between the move in the photo and some of the moves a female gymnast performs on a balance beam or parallel bars are a little more midriff showing and a bunch of drunk guys watching.

Shame on people for being impressed by the female form!

  12. I’ll need significantly more photo evidence before I can make any judgment.

  13. Hey, Phyllis, your horse’s head keeps popping up through the roof.  You might wanna see to that…

  14. I would just like to say how amazing it is that you all are so closed minded that you cannot see this as an art form. Although it is practiced in your “den’s of sin” most would be surprised to know that most of the girls were raised as gymnist’s. How funny it is to me that because we decided to show case our talents you may now deem us lesser then you. Honestly I am so happy that I, a single girl can aggravate a entire population, by just expressing my self, and that a reporter who decided it was news worthy got under you skin. I Know I am not the best person in the world but I do know I have more self-respect for myself then those who need to talk badly about people because they lead a different lifestyle. I was in the competition, so your comments are directed at me, but if it will help you sleep better at night to hate me for being in the contest, I also like girls too, so hate me for that not the contest. Put that in your bible belt.

  15. “you all”?

    “your ‘dens of sin’”?

    “aggravate a entire population”?

“Put that in your bible belt”?

I think one person expressed disdain for your chosen form of expression, Terresa, and she was soundly put down.  Lighten up a little, and point that finger of self-righteous indignation somewhere else.
