Photo ID Required for Conservation Congress

At the Wisconsin Conservation Congress meetings last week, there comes this little tidbit.

A photo id is required in order to receive ballots to vote for candidates.

In Wisconsin, you need a photo ID to vote on wildlife issues, but not for electing our government.  Why is the DNR and the Conservation Congress purposely excluding all of those old and poor people who can’t get photo IDs?  Won’t our wildlife policies be racist because requiring a photo ID disproportionately excludes minorities?  How can Doyle stand by and let one of his agencies engage in a policy that props up the rich white oligarchy?

  8. Could it be because the CC and the US have different Constitutions?

  9. C’mon, now grumps… that’s pretty weak.  Photo ID for voting is widely used in other states and has been upheld as constitutional.  This is not a constitutional issue.

Just as a comparison does anyone know exactly how many states have a voter id law similar to the one being pushed in WI and how many states have appointed rather than elected SCs?
