Perry?

I’d get behind Perry for president.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry, the longest serving chief executive in the state’s history and a politician who has never lost an election, said Friday he will consider seeking the Republican nomination for president.

The outspoken conservative, who for months said he wasn’t interesting in running for the White House, said he will consider entering the race after the Texas Legislature adjourns Monday.

  2. Wisconsin is an expensive place to live compared to Texas.  The taxpayers here derive no real benefit from that expense.

That’s why I stand firmly behind Scott Walker.

  3. Nice to see he’s finally stepping out of Kinky Friedman’s shadow.

This doesn’t speak well for how the GOP presidential field is shaping up. There’s zero energy behind nominating another Texas governor….word to the wise - pour the PAC money into Congressional races next year.

  4. No thanks on Perry.  His comments on the needed AZ immigration law soured me on him.

  5. I don’t know if Wendy’s weirdness is my weirdness, but the dude reminds me of a slick used car salesman.  No offense to the profession but, he gives me the creeps.

  6. If Texas wasn’t so blasted hot - I’d move there in a minute.

  7. Considering who the GOP has in the race, I Perry would be on the top of my list.  He is a governor in a large state and has held the State together during diasters.
Considering that Obama has screwed with Texas a couple of times in the last month shows me that Obama is scared of him also.

  8. After the unmitigated disaster that was George W. Bush, I kind of doubt that people are going to be very enthusiastic about putting another Texas governor in the White House, especially once they become more acquainted with Rick Perry’s record. However, as a Democrat, all I can say is “Please, dear God, let Rick Perry be the GOP nominee.”

  9. I sat next to a Texan at a wedding reception this weekend and he asked me the same question.
I had to reply that I would be very disappointed if this was that best that the GOP could come up with.
I would not mind a conservative president, but I want a competent person who realizes that once elected, they must respresent all the people and not just the ones who voted for them.

  11. Silly Bill. I hold Obama to the same standard and will agree that he has not represented a large portion of the country. I think the last election may have sent him a message.
I’d be happy to chip in for air conditioning if you’d like to move. How about those Cowboys?
