CNN has Clinton winning, but only by 8 points (with 55% reporting). This doesn’t bode well for Clinton.
UPDATE: Clinton wins by 10.
Her campaign said that should raise new questions about whether Obama, who leads Clinton in the overall Democratic race, can beat presumptive Republican nominee John McCain in November.
“The tide is turning,” Clinton told cheering supporters. Chelsea Clinton’s eyes welled with tears as she watched her mother speak.
With about 99 percent of precincts reporting, Clinton was leading Obama by 10 points.
First, the victory will be closer too and may surpass 10 points.
Huge win for Hillary, who was outspent an amazing 3:1 on television and in the mail.
The clinging to guns and god comment has a lot of legs.
I don’t think Hillary will pull off the ultimate win though, she’s out of money. But the events in PA are a significant blow to Obama and the results do not bode well for him in November. He will not become president if he loses PA in November, and he significantly alienated Casey/Reagan voters in recent weeks.
I hate agreeing with Fraley, but when is an eight-point win when you get completely outspent by the Messiah an insignificant, race-ending victory?
Isn’t the real question why Obama can’t beat Clinton among white voters and Catholics?
With 85% in, Clinton up by 10.
The margin had been bouncing right around 9 points most of the night. Now it’s just a tick under 10 with 88% in.
The money issue is now overrated; the rest of the states are rather small and relatively inexpensive. Also, if memory serves, both Clinton and Obama do have significant amounts they can’t touch until after the convention.
IMHO, all Clinton has to do is get the delegate lead down to under 50 by the time the primaries are over, and things will get REAL interesting.
This may yet be a 10-point win for Hillary and a big blow to Obama…..the bottom line is that if you started the primaries over again from January, how many of you would put your money on Obama to still have a delegate lead if you re-ran everything? Or let Florida and Michigan re-vote?
Sure Hillary is down, but this is like an Indy race…..it’s quite plausible Obama crashes into the wall or blows a tire in the next 30-60 days. She’s just drafting him, waiting for him to make a mistake.
It is great to watch all the democratic hosts and pundits on MSNBC…..There is no solution to this. Obama is now the weaker candidate but will get the nomination by virtue of some primaries he won in Red States three months ago.
The clinging to guns and god comment has a lot of legs.
It sure does appear to, doesn’t it!
I lean toward what Steve Austin says—even if Obama is down, the token golden boy will most likely wind up with the nomination. Course, I wouldn’t bet on it at this point! With this party you just never know…
Listening to Charlie as I drove to work this morning and he had a break down of PA voters. Obama can’t win the “geezers” and no way will he do it with the youth vote. People 45 and older voted overwhelmingly for Hillary. This is so much fun to watch - Democrats eat their own. Keep it coming!!!
