Sigh.
TMZ has learned that Paris Hilton has not only had her sentence cut short, she is already out of jail!
Unimpeachable sources tell TMZ the deal was sealed yesterday, and that Hilton made her exit early early this morning.
She was originally sentenced to 45 days in jail, but that was reduced to 23. She served a total of three days.
I had a tiny bit of hope that the law would be applied equally in this case, but those hopes have been dashed.
What a joke.
Anyone else would not only probably have received a harsher sentence for violating probation, but they would have had to serve most, if not all, of it.
Guess it pays to be a hot, talentless blonde.
And somehow people still argue that this country is a meritocracy.
There is only one just punishment for Paris Hilton…ignore her.
Gee, do you ya think black people—maybe even Eugene Kane—have a point when they beef about how unfair the penal system is in this country?
If this country were a true meritocracy, Paris Hilton would be beneath our notice due to lack of merit. If she were as white as she is, but raised in a trailer park or attending Duke University, she would have received the full sentence.
Amy,
I’ll certainly go along with talentless, but I don’t think she’s all that hot.
but I don’t think she’s all that hot
She is hot the first time you see her before she opens her mouth…
Has anyone else noticed that Paris Hilton has, better than ANY other celebrity, mastered “the look” you know the one, that smirky “I’m so much better than you” look.

She’s not hot. She’s just a collection of the best features that money can buy, like Mrs. Potatohead.
Someone at work mentioned that this is actually the common practice at that jail because of overcrowding, depending on your crime. They serve about 3 days, then are placed under house arrest with an ankle bracelet.
I don’t know if that’s absolutely true or not, but IF it is… then really she’s being treated like everyone else. And isn’t that what everyone has been clamoring for anyway?
You mean this look xx?

It appears that she wasn’t required to follow mug shot protocol (at least one ear visible) in the first picture either.
And I don’t know why she would need a medical waiver to be released into house arrest if that were common practice Nick. Sounds like BS.
I wonder how much $$$$ her mommy and daddy kicked into the policeman’s retirement fund, or the sheriff’s reelection fund.
I would like to see every other clown who is in the joint for drunk driving claim the food sucks and they are mentally anguished by being there and see if they get sent home. what a joke!
Her sentence was overly tough, for California standards. The normal sentence for that offense is 5-10 days.
This was not Kansas, It’s California for crying out loud, this is standard practice. Michelle Rodriguez (lost) did three hours of a 60 day sentence for multiple DUI’s and breaking probation.
Much ado about nothing.
Of course the race card has already been played by Rev. Al so this will echo for awhile.
Do I Care? No
Just saying.
In any event she was probably a huge pain the @$$ at the jail facility. I can imagine the other inmates were hoping for a shot at her and can you imagine the publicity if PH was injured even in the slightest?
Paris Hilton our very own Princess Di.
Also to those dissing the idea our nation is a meritocracy I would say you are silly. A storm in Oconto county does not a storm all throughout Wisconsin make.
When you refer to Paris Hilton as our “very own Princess Di,” then
America is not a meritocracy by any means.
The Brits loved to gawk at Princess Di and then whine about the excessive coverage, intrusive filming & photography of Princess Di.
It seems we have the same complex wrt Paris Hilton. We complain about the excessive coverage but there is a reason for the coverage its because people are buying it. If it wasn’t Paris Hilton it would be someone else there always seem to be someone on hand to fill that role.
Does not do a thing to say we are not on the whole a meritocracy.
I don’t completely understand your storm reference Marcus, but if you’re suggesting that Paris’s treatment was just the luck of the draw, and not because of her wealth and celebrity, then I’ve got a mirror here to help you find silly.
Orange Jumpsuit - $15
1 Pair of handcuffs - $35
Chauffeured ride back to jail in a black and White cruiser - $0
Seeing the Hotel Heiress crying and calling for “mom” - PRICELESS!!!!!
HAHAHA
Nice to see that at least the judge isn’t going to stand for it.
Looks like Paris will find out what it is like to be “grounded.” Something she should have learned when she was 10!
