I received a petition in my email from One Wisconsin Now asking me to sign a petition demanding that Justice Ziegler recuse herself from a case.
Annette Ziegler has a dog in this fight and must recuse herself from the case. In response to the conflict, One Wisconsin Now has begun an online petition drive calling for Ziegler to recuse herself in the case. Sign the Petition Today! After you sign, don’t forget to forward the petition to at least five friends.
I’m expecting the petition for Justice Butler anytime now.
Madison - State Supreme Court Justice Louis Butler did not immediately disclose that an attorney appearing before the court sat on his campaign finance committee and contributed $500 to his election effort, despite his policy of making such matters public.
Unless, of course, OWN is just a liberal attack group who trumped up an issue to smear someone they don’t like. Nah… that can’t be the case.
For the record, I don’t think either one of them should recuse themselves.
WPR keeps acting like One Wisconsin Now is an independent watchdog group.
It doesn’t look like that to me.
This has gotten a little ridiculous. What judge looks at who the lawyers are in a case?
Gee Owen any opinion on what kind of disciplinary action should levied on Ziegler for lying about her conflicts throughout the campaign and then admitting them after the election?
As far as Butler goes, he should be hung out to dry right next her.
It is certainly comforting to know that we have the best Governor, Legislature and Supreme Court that campaign contributions can buy.
This has been a problem since people first started giving campaign donations. If all of the judges have to recuse themselves for accepting donations we will not have any judges.
Big money is being spent by many groups to elect people on both sides. there is probably more of a conflict if one judges opponent received money fom a group with a case before the court and the judge that did get elected wants to get even.
Its simple - our State Supreme Court Justices are elected! Thus they get campaign donations!
Should any Justice who got donations from the teachers union have to sit out of school choice issues or the upcoming case about the Virtual Academy?
