Oshkosh Wins Contract

Awesome!

Oshkosh Corp. has won a Pentagon contract that could be worth billions of dollars to build armored off-road vehicles.

On Tuesday afternoon, Army officials said Oshkosh outbid competitors Navistar International, General Dynamics, Force Dynamics and BAE Systems for the contract that could be worth $12 billion in fiscal 2009 and 2010.

The Pentagon already has $1.7 billion in funding for the program from the 2009 budget, plus an additional $4.5 billion included in a supplemental war spending budget, which would allow quick orders for a large number of trucks.

  3. I’m surprised the under Obama we are building any sort of military machine.  I thought we are now the country of “peace”.

I wonder if these vehicles are “green”? cheese

  4. Fred, maybe, just maybe they had a better truck? Does Oshkosh do all their building at their plants in Wisconsin I thought they had few plants spread throughout the world.
