Open Carry Banned In State Buildings

This does seem like an odd policy.

Madison - Gov. Scott Walker’s administration is barring openly carrying guns into state buildings, even for people with valid concealed carry permits

  1. Considering the lunatics that have been terrorizing our Capitol, perhaps this is precautionary….

  2. But can concealed carry permit people carry concealed and not openly? I thought that was why it was “concealed” carry and not “open” carry, which was already legal.

You never know with news stories, because whenever there is a shooting, they always say that the gun wasn’t “registered” as if it’s a crime to have an unregistered weapon in a state where there is no gun registration.

  3. Sure Scooter is more than happy to pander to you gun freaks who want to exercise some perceived right to be the lone ranger walking down the street.  But he’s not stupid enough to allow you to carry the damn guns into the seat of government where he or others coould be targeted. Hypocrisy…alive and well in the Governor’s office.

  4. “Perceived?” Dave???  It is written in the U.S. CONSTITUTION fcs.  Otherwise, I agree that those in the statehouse may be worried that they will become targets, and THAT is hypocritical.  Enjoy your libeeral-minded day.

  5. This is the sort of news item that I read and can’t decide if I should think “oh, well, that might be reasonable” or “one more step down a slippery slope…”
