I was in Little Rock, AR, for a few days this week. The trip out there was crappy. I flew out of O’Hare on a direct flight. I left home at 0630 and got to O’Hare at 0830. My flight was scheduled to leave at 1120. Due to weather, my flight was canceled. Ugh… I tried to go standby on the 1320 flight but didn’t make it. I finally got out on the 1745 flight that actually left at 1930. I finally made it to the hotel at 2200. That pretty much blew my day.
On Thursday I had a little time to kill before catching my 1945 flight back to O’Hare, so I went by the William J. Clinton Presidential Library. Here are a few pics:
This is the outside (duh).
They have a couple of replica rooms. Here’s the replica cabinet room. The screens on the table are touch screen and give you more information. You could sit in the chairs and check it out.
Here’s the replica Oval Office. You can’t go in. I suspect that they had too many people taking reenactment pictures around the desk.
Here’s a long shot of the gallery. It’s two floors with exhibits lining the walls.
Here’s a picture of Clinton as a member of the Trojan Band.
This one made me laugh. Notice that the “Percentage of people living on less than $1 a day” in 2000 was 1,169 million. It’s even funnier because it’s above the “Literacy” line.
It’s good to be back home.
Okay, I’ll go first.
Where was the blue dress?

How much was the admission fee?
For the ladies, a wet t-shirt got you in the door. For me it was $7.
Posted by Owen on June 29, 2007 at 2141 hrsOn the “Technology” line, is Clinton trying to claim credit for the Internet boom?
Posted by Jed on June 29, 2007 at 2226 hrsHard to tell. ‘m not sure if this is supposed to be a “look at how great I made the world” or a “look at how much the world changed.” I suspect it was left vague intentionally.
Posted by Owen on June 30, 2007 at 0651 hrsIf they had tried, they could not have made that building look any more like a double-wide trailer.
Yeesh

Posted by Billiam on June 30, 2007 at 0928 hrsI’m glad I’,m not the only one who thought it looked like a trailer home.
Posted by (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) on June 30, 2007 at 1044 hrsHey Owen, I too got slam dunked by the air transport system this week. Spent a lot of time waiting in airports. Northwest apparently had a big problem. I hope to God that my travel schedule slows down before Airtrans takes over Midwest. As to Clinton, a sad case, much like our current president, of wasted potential. Talk about your classic tragic flaw. I also thought it looked like a trailer. Where’s a tornado when you really need it?
Posted by (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) on June 30, 2007 at 2142 hrsIs it true that those “replica” rooms really furnished with the couches, chairs, etc. that the Clinton’s ripped off when they moved out?
Only the furniture actually used for a conquest were taken from the White House. You just couldn’t tell because they use really good stain removers.
