Obama Tries to Stifle Dissent
You know, I’m getting sick of this mantra.
“The time for talk is over. The time for action is now,” said Obama.
Every time Obama wants something, he declares that there shouldn’t be any more debate and we should all just shut up and go along with whatever he wants. Is this a man who actually believes in robust political discourse? It doesn’t seem like it. When he doesn’t get his way immediately, he tries to shut up the opposition. It’s going to be a long four years for him if he thinks that he’s so special that everyone will just bow solemnly and let him go along his merry way.
John Lott has talked about his experience with this attitude this when the O-man was at ISU.

This is what we get from such an inexperienced politician. He does not know how to govern. Had the media properly vetted him instead of worship him, the election would have turned out much different.

For this moment at least Obama has been “epic fail”
This bill is easy. $900 Billion. $400 billion for an immediate suspension of FICA taxes. That puts dollars in the pockets of all working Americans to spend or save. Their choice. Either will benefit the economy. If they save, the money goes into banks to help their balance sheets.
$250 billion to create the Boone Pickens wind farms in the plains states and try on a medium size scale obtaining some energy independence. Retrofit a couple auto plants in the Midwest for the manufacture of the turbines.
$250 billion in infrastructure to try and set up a high speed rail system between major cities in the US for purposes of transportation, developing the technology and providing a redundant way to commute in case air travel ever gets taken down again by a 9-11 or worse.
That’s a $900b plan I bet I could get 75 Senators to “co-sign” onto by tomorrow night.
Unfortunately Obama now looks like a weak little kid who is afraid of Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosi.

I thought when Bush left we were supposed to be getting a leader. With a plan. Who could articulate it to us.
Where has Obama been in formulating this bill? All I heard from him the last three months was that the bill would ensure energy independence and rebuild critical infrastructure like roads, bridges and high-speed rail lines.
Yet you have tons of things like $88 million going to the Milwaukee Public Schools to build new buildings they don’t need and $300 million for STD education. And billions more in handouts to fund ongoing bureacratic spending programs at the State level.
He’s got the momentum and the mandate for a real FDR action here, but he’s pissing away his political capital faster then one can imagine by not stepping up with real leadership on this bill. His face needs to be out there drafting this and selling it. Not Pelosi.

No, how about he leads like a leader should. Maybe show some intelligence between those two dumbo ears of his. Maybe syrround himself with people know what they are doing and are not tax cheats, lobbyists or defending the porn industry etc. How about putting Americans first instead of worring about Gitmo and the terrorist rights(if they even have many rights to begin with).
How about leading intead of being led by the nose by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, who are mental midgets by their ownright. How about not breaking campaign promises two weeks into his administration.

M<y question is this; If this is so important, why rush it and screw it up? If this really is about stimulus, do it right. They rushed through the Patriot Act. Has the left forgotten their lamentation over it? Yet, you want to run what is essentially a Democrat payback and social engineering bill, ram it down everyone’s throats, and tell them, you’ll like it or else! Please, you’re being hypocrites the way you bitched about Bush’s spending, and THIS abortion of a bill HAS to be passed, and passed NOW. What a steaming pant load!

IRS takes in ~700B/yr. Why not suspend income tax for one year and let us peons keep our own money instead of spending the same amount on pork.. That would be a stimulus.
