This seems like a done deal. By the end of his Presidency, Obama may have more blood on his hands as a result of this order than Bush ever did.
President-elect Barack Obama is considering issuing an executive order to reverse a controversial Bush administration abortion policy in his first week in office, three Democratic sources said Monday.
Obama’s second full day as president falls on the 36th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the 1973 Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion in the United States.
The sources said Obama may use the occasion to reverse the “Mexico City policy” reinstated in 2001 by Bush that prohibits U.S. money from funding international family planning groups that promote abortion or provide information, counseling or referrals about abortion services. It bans any organization receiving family planning funds from the U.S. Agency for International Development from offering abortions or abortion counseling.
By the end of his Presidency, Obama may have more blood on his hands as a result of this order than Bush ever did.
And so will the people who voted for him.
I guess what they don’t realise is that the founder of PP started PP for the express purpose of eugenics which basically translated to breeding the black, disabled, and mentally disordered out.
Except they don’t see it that way, so you can all save your holier than thou moral condescension for people who give a rat’s ass. I was just reading in another thread about how great conservatives now apparently think birth control is for poor people. Well, we know who handles those appointments right? Yeah, PP.
And fishaddict, if it weren’t for the abortion thing, the overwhelming majority of Americans would find absolutely nothing controversial about what PP actually does. You might be surprised to know that providing abortion services is an extremely minimal part of their work.
I’m pro-life but I’m happy to support PP because I believe in the overwhelming majority of what it is that they do.
Like money for “black only” abortions?
Taxpayer funds should almost never be used to fund abortions. There are plenty of celebrities, and rabid abortion enthusiasts/celebrants (NOW) that seem to have plenty of time and enjoy to raise private funds to cover nearly all abortions. They are so thrilled with the procedure, they can fund it.
Wait, people still care about this?
How can you call yourself a Christian and support funding abortion?
Taxpayer funds should almost never be used to fund abortions.
Taxpayer funds should NEVER be used to fund abortions. Whether it’s something that is or is not morally right, it is not something that the government should be involved in period.
And why on God’s green earth are we even considering sending money to other countries to fund abortions, when we are so frickin’ far in debt that we will probably never get out of it?
