Obama Screwed Up

Uh huh.

President Barack Obama is taking responsibility for mistakes in the handling of the tax controversy that led to Tom Daschle’s withdrawal as President Barack Obama’s nominee to be health and human services secretary, saying: “I screwed up.”

The president did a series of back-to-back television interviews in which the subject of failed nominees was a top subject.

Obama told NBC “I’m frustrated with myself” for unintentionally sending a message that there are “two sets of rules” for paying taxes, “one for prominent people and one for ordinary folks.”

“I take responsibility for this mistake,” he told Fox News.

What about Timothy Geithner?  It’s hard to take Obama seriously on this when he is allowing a known tax cheat to head up the Treasury.

  4. Obama has become an embarrassment the first week in office with this terrible stimulus plan that the liberals in the house and Senate came up with plus the appointments he has made.
When you have little experience that is what you get.  It is nice that he takes responsibility, but what lies ahead?

  5. Hope.  Change.

Lest we forget his “judgement” that would serve him well in lieu of “experience”.

At what point does this rabble that’s running the country start taking their jobs seriously?  This group is like the gang that couldn’t shoot straight.  It would be funny if not for the severity…

If he and his staff aren’t up to the task, then quit.  Now is not the time to learn on the job how to govern.  Put Biden in charge - he can’t be any worse.

  6. Sorry about the popcorn smiley.  I updated the blog software last weekend and forgot to re-add the non-stock smilieys.  I’ll fix it when I get time this weekend.

  7. Obama is embarrassing. We have dealt with eight years of the most vile and disturbing hatred and vitriol pouring out of the left. President Bush took it in stride. Obama faces his first direct criticism from a radio talk show host, so he brings down the hammer of the entire democratic establishment on him.

Obama has already proven to me that he has a tyrannical streak, and when you add that to a guy who clearly has absolutely NO JUDGEMENT, you have a recipe for absolute disaster.

  8. I can’t say I’m thrilled with O - but at least he admitted he screwed up on old Tommy. If he does really want to come clean - he needs to ask Geithner to resign.

I’d say the honeymoon is over…

    And Biden would be worse.

  9. More transparency coming to DC!

This has been an impressive transition! It’s almost like the things The One said on the campaign trail were just empty campaign rhetoric.

  10. Didn’t take long for Pres Obama to demonstrate he can’t govern. Good at campaigning, awesome at giving a speech. His cabinet is less diverse than W’s, he brought in the same old Washington insiders, he’s controlled by lobbyists and his stimulus plan is a disaster. It’s going to be a long four years for this nation.
