Obama “Kill Him” Claim Unsubstantiated

Well, well...

The agent in charge of the Secret Service field office in Scranton said allegations that someone yelled “kill him” when presidential hopeful Barack Obama’s name was mentioned during Tuesday’s Sarah Palin rally are unfounded.

The Scranton Times-Tribune first reported the alleged incident on its Web site Tuesday and then again in its print edition Wednesday. The first story, written by reporter David Singleton, appeared with allegations that while congressional candidate Chris Hackett was addressing the crowd and mentioned Obama’s name a man in the audience shouted “kill him.”

[...]

He said the agency conducted an investigation Wednesday, after seeing the story, and could not find one person to corroborate the allegation other than Singleton.

  1. Damn the Scranton Times-Tribune!!

    KILL THEM!!!

Oh wait… I wasn’t supposed to say that was I?

If the reporter that wrote that hasn’t been fired yet the person in charge of firing needs to be fired.

  2. Doesn’t matter if it’s actually true or not because the left has determined it is.

  3. Gee, a journalist lying to in an attempt to help The Messiah. That’s really hard to believe.

  4. Exactly Cynical ... Much like they’ve determined that Palin is stupid ... while Joe Biden is out running around telling a guy in a wheel chair to stand up, that there is no such thing as clean coal, that you can’t walk into a 7-11 without talking with an Indian accent, claiming FDR was President in 1929, that FDR went on TV to calm the nation after the stock market crash in that same year, that he was recently in a Deleware diner that hasn’t existed in 25 years, or is claiming that ‘Jobs ... J-O-B-S ... Jobs’ is a 3 letter word.  He’d be the first to tell you that he thinks he has a higher IQ than you too!

  5. I would point out the AP did the same thing when Bush was in West Allis.

He mentioned that Bill Clinton was hospitalized and undergoing surgery. There was a lot of gasping. He concluded his remarks by saying let’s all pray for a speedy recovery and the crowed cheered.

The AP reported that the crowd cheered at the news of Clinton being hospitalized. Totally bogus. Just like this story.

  6. Maybe it’s because the incident occurred in Florida.

Let’s not pretend the mood hasn’t been ugly at some of these rallies.

  7. This is from Rolling Stone magazine:

[Renegade right-winger Ted Nugent recently went on a vicious onstage rant in which he threatened the lives of Democratic presidential candidates Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Decked out in full-on camouflage hunting gear, Nugent wielded two machine guns while raging, “Obama, he’s a piece of shit. I told him to suck on my machine gun. Hey Hillary,” he continued. “You might want to ride one of these into the sunset, you worthless bitch.” Nugent summed up his eloquent speech by screaming “freedom!”]

Right-wing wackos hate the Democratic Party and that includes nominees of the Democratic Party.

When are you going to face up to the reality that “people” like Nugent are freaks and actually hate freedom?

Nugent didn’t actually say “Kill him!”, but that’s pretty damn close.

  9. Hey Cynical

    Are you really cynical?

    Or are you really pathetic?

I think that right-wing icons like Nugent are really a**holes.

    Pathetic on your part,

  10. Right-wing wackos hate the Democratic Party and that includes nominees of the Democratic Party.

Left-wing wackos hate the Republican Party and that includes nominees of the Republican Party.

When are you going to face up to the reality that “people” like Nugent are freaks and actually hate freedom?

When are you going to face up to the reality that “people” like William Ayers are freaks and actually hate freedom?

Nugent didn’t actually say “Kill him!”, but that’s pretty damn close.

William Ayers didn’t actually, oh wait, he actually did explode bombs, and is on record saying he wished the exploded more.

    Pathetic on your part,

  11. The other thing that seems to be missed here is while the left talks about things that may or may not happen, the left actually does things. The left talks about voter suppression by the right and yet it is the left that slashes tires on busses intended for assisting people to get to the polls, the left talks about violence at GOP rallies and yet it is the left that breaks windows at recruiting statins, stops traffic(Palin’s recent motorcade and countless anti military marches), throws things at folks(too numerous to mention) and so on. Seems to me that the left talks about what they actually do.

  12. Fishaddict, you seemed to have missed the fact that Republicans have been convicted in recent years for voter suppression. You also seem to forget that Republicans from the Ayers era were also convicted of sabotaging the other party in a general election.

  13. And I can’t even believe that I forgot the rightwinger who blew up a federal building.
