No Need for Extra Security at Taxpayers’ Expense

This is wrong.

Madison - Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen may be the first non-governor from Wisconsin to be guarded by state agents at a national political convention, if he gets that protection at the Republican Party event in September, officials said Friday.

Wisconsin’s past two attorneys general, the lieutenant governor, and five members of Congress from Wisconsin who could be polled Friday said they never had security details assigned to them during the national political rallies that occur every four years.

Unless there has been a specific threat made of which the public isn’t aware, I see no reason whatsoever for the taxpayers to pay for security for Van Hollen.  With all due respect, J.B., I suspect that Sensenbrenner would be a bigger target than you and he isn’t asking the taxpayers to pay for his security.

  2. I don’t think 9 out of 10 Wisconsin residents could pick JB Van Hollen out of a lineup.  Who even knows who this invisible man is?  What has he accomplished the last two years?

This guy will lose in the next election unless he makes some big public splashes in stopping consumer fraud or the like.  Anyone other than Peg with a “D” next to their name will beat him.

  3. Well, at least someone thinks highly of J.B. - Himself.

  4. The man has been a total embarrassment to me as a conservative.  I will not vote for him again.  I don’t understand why he thinks he needs protection-has he received credible threats?  Be a guy J.B. and protect yourself like the rest of us do.
