No Kitchen Remodel for Governor’s Mansion

While this is good, I suppose…

DOA Secretary Mike Huebsch pulled the proposed remodel of two executive residence kitchens from today’s Building Commission agenda.

Huebsch said in a statement the Wisconsin Executive Residence Foundation is in the process of raising private funds for the project. If that effort covers the full $478,700 cost, it will not need Building Commission approval.

...Why don’t we sell the whole thing and be done with it? If we feel the need, we can provide a housing stipend for the governor to maintain a place in Madison, but a mansion on prime property for the governor is an unnecessary expense.

  1. I said this right before Walker moved into it and was called a troll.
    Now it makes sense.

  2. Walker doesn’t live there, so I don’t know what you mean by he “moved into it”.  Doyle, however, did live there, so he probably effed it all up with his late night nacho snacks.

  3. Yeah good idea Owen.  While we’re at it let’s sell the Capitol and have the state rent space at the Concourse when the legislature is in session.  Maybe we sell the White House and give the president an allowance to rent a condo on the Potomac!

    Preferably, UNDER the Potomac.
