No Death Star

Shoot.

“The Administration shares your desire for job creation and a strong national defense,” writes Paul Shawcross, chief of the science and space branch of the White House’s budget office. But “the Administration does not support blowing up planets.”

  1. That is one of the best responses to silliness I have read in sometime.  Second only to the dry response the British gave to an open records request regarding the government’s plans for a zombie apocalypse.

  2. So this means the new Obamacare bureaucracy is dead?

    That is good news.

  3. But what if it could be used for good rather than evil?

  5. Pelican,

Liberalism always start out as Anakin Skywalker, but its always Darth Vader in practice…so the idea absolute government power can be used for “good” is impossible.

  6. Kevin,

Stick to trolling about DQ and Republican talking points, and quit trying, and failing, to tie star wars in. You’re getting it wrong. Darth Vader was good in the end.

  7. VA,

Darth Vader was good in the end.

Redemption from evil acts is always possible on this earth.  I hope this is not “the end justifies the means” argument.

If your point is:  Vader was always good and well intentioned, he just lost his way…you make my point on well intentioned people having absolute power being a horrible thing.

  8. Kevin,

Darth Vader and Star Wars didn’t take place on this Earth. My point is, you are a relentless troll who is turning Star Wars into incorrect and inaccurate, not to mention incomprehensible, fringe-lunatic-Right-Wing talking points.

Which Star Wars do you watch?

Anakin starts out as a well intentioned do-gooder.

He obtains near absolute power and does unspeakable evil in the name of “peace”.

He redeems himself in the end.

    What is incorrect/inaccurate about that?

    Kevin:

Never try to teach a pig to sing; it wastes your time and annoys the pig.
