Welcome.

The Navy’s newest attack submarine, the New Hampshire, was christened Saturday, delivered eight months ahead of schedule and $54 million under budget.

  1. Wow, that’s great!  Now our legislators get to decide what to do with this $54 million windfall they just got.  But we all know $54 million doesn’t go very far, so they can raise taxes to make it an even $100 million and spend it on a $475 million project.

  2. I still cannot get used to calling Submarines by State names that was always reserved for battleships until we stopped building them.

but then again I hate that we name Aircraft Carriers for people we should have stuck to naming them for famous US battles like Yorktown and Lexington

Sorry I am a grumpy old sailor today lol

  3. Ahead of schedule and under budget, woohoo.

The religious term and tradition of “Christening” always leaves a bad taste when talking about the Gov. doing it.  Seems like a rather CLEAR endorsment of religion to me.
