My column for the Daily News is online. It’s called, “New game for GOP Senate.”
TWall as the big loser is a good thing.
Wall would have gotten creamed in November. (taxes)
Westlake is a joke.
Leinie did the right thing. There was no way he was going to be able to defend his record with Doyle. Smartly he got out early enough not to damage the process.
Johnson is interesting. I’m hopeful that he is the real deal and actually practices what he preaches.

He very well could be Wisconsin’s very own “Scott Brown”.
Not a Westlake supporter, but made sure I finally got a shirt at the convention. I think Westlake is in this race. He has done remarkable well with such little money he has. Everyone should look at how he has done that. Wall, despite the free donuts and coffee (along with the free mugs) who seems like a likable enough man with good ideas isn’t receiving much traction in the party. He is liked because he is using his own money, but the party is not enthusiastically behind him. Although Johnson is from my backyard, I still don’t know him. Lots in the 6th District love him and encouraged me to vote for him.
Johnson also hired some of the best campaign staffers and consultants in Wisconsin to run his campaign.
Evidently no one told him, and a staff, worker that tearing down signs of other candidates, while being caught on camera, isn’t the smartest, or classiest of decisions a candidate could make. I wonder what he was thinking??
The version of the video that I have seen is pretty short.
It looked to me that he liked that spot and was trying to stage a meet/greet place for himself.
I don’t know what the protocol is for that kind of thing so not sure if it is a big deal or not.
My bigger question would be is he related to the other Johnson in the flick who is a RPW something or other. Anybody that can answer that?

I might be able to buy that.
I might be able to buy that.
Johnson is pretty much a blank slate.
Wall had to much baggage with the whole no taxes paid stuff, legal or not, that just is not going to play well. The tax issue probably is ,and should be, thoroughly vetted for Johnson.
In a different year, say 2002 or before, a Leinenkugel might have been able to make the transition.
For me, Westlake is really the only guy who seems to have any genuine sincerity in play. He has no money, a lot of policy positions that he is actually willing to talk about with some specificity, and some pretty recognizable campaign branding.
The next 100 days are going to be very interesting.

And you can tell that he actually believes the things he is saying.
If you look at his Facebook page, he is moving full steam ahead.
Johnson is still “developing” his policy positions. He is a Tea Party founder and he doesn’t have any policy positions yet? WISGOP pushed him because he has money and he’s willing to spend it on his election. Wall was also a frontrunner because he could self fund. The only true Conservative in the race is Westlake. No, he doesn’t have a lot of money but he has Conservative values that he won’t compromise. Do we know that about Johnson or Wall?
Ron Johnson is a TEA Party speaker not a TEA Party founder.
