Neumann Delivers Petitions Opposing Health Care Bill

Good for him.

Republican candidate for governor Mark Neumann delivered more than 5,000 petitions to the Milwaukee office of U.S. Rep. Gwen Moore (D-Wis.) on Monday from people who say they are against the health care bill before Congress.

Neumann carried the petitions, stacked about two feet high, into Moore’s office Monday morning, and then told reporters that the health care bill will mean higher taxes and more government spending.

He also said that he supported a draft state constitutional amendment that he said was likely to be introduced by State Sen. Joe Leibham (R-Sheboygan), which would preserve choice and private health care options in Wisconsin.

As governor, he said he would take steps to try to block a health care bill from taking effect in Wisconsin.

I think Virginia recently passed a law that would prevent it State citizens from having to purchase insurance if health care is passed.

The way things are going with Congress it will probably become mandatory to have insurance companies running the State Insurance Commissioners office.

  3. scott.  If you want communist health care so badly, please move to England so that you too, can die of *thirst* in a hospital.

  4. A more important question is, when we finally do achieve universal health care coverage in America, where will you move to that doesn’t already have it?

  5. Scott—-we will have nowhere to go.

As Reagan was fond of saying “If we lose freedom here, there is no place to escape to….we are the last stand on earth”

  6. we will have nowhere to go.

Sure you will!  There are dozens and dozens of countries around the world who don’t have the kind of government intrusions into the health care system you so abhor.  I’m sure at least one of these free market paradises will suit you.

  9. Liberty died a long time ago in America.

No wait I can’t say that.  It only died with democrats, especially Obama.  Yeah.  And he is a cybernetic life form sent through time to eat babies…and pass healthcare.

What did you have for lunch scott?

  10. I wonder how many of those 5,000 name are people who reside in Gwen Moore’s district.  If it’s a small number, and more than likely it is, then Mr. Neumann wasted a lot of time and energy on this effort.

Laugh on comrade…. But don’t laugh too loudly, the proles are just down the corridor. You better hide that chocolate ration, or they might beat you for it.

I agree… I’d much rather see him seated in the Senate in place of Russ Feingold.

  14. In what context is there any morality in equal misery, Scott?

Posted by Steve on March 15, 2010 at 1902 hrs

  15. Hell no, let’s keep the misery unequal as it should be. Make sure Americans suffer the twin anguish of painful health problems and financial ruin. Screw em, right boys? That’s freedom! Owned by the health insurance companies.

How is it you have the ability to make the word liberty sound trivial and childish? The founding fathers fought and died so our lives can be controlled by the aristocrats with the health insurance companies. You how to make our country great!

Health insurance tells you where you can work, what your health future is going to be and how long you are going to live.

  17. Do what tark?

You mean making sure you can get insurance whether you have a pre-existing condition, want to change jobs or want to start a businesses. You mean making sure that you will not be priced out of the insurance market? You mean making sure a kid who is having starting off in this job market has health insurance at least to age 26? You mean finally having a way so that seniors can get all of their drugs covered.

If that seems like a really idea tark do us all a favor. Stay the hell out of the way of reforming this dysfunctional system. I want to make sure health care is there when I need it without my income being eaten up.

And if we do nothing chances are good this could be the case for me and many of us very shortly.

    Pretty damned sophomoric comeback tark.

  20. If this health care take over is so great then why don’t the dem’s want to be on record voting for it. I would think they would were a banner that says I voted for heath care takover. Instead they want to say I voted for the bill to fix the health care bill. We will see how stupid americans are in november.

  23. They don’t have the votes to pass the piece of crap that is the Senate/House health care bill.

If they were smart - they’d throw this bill out, develop a new pared down bill that everyone can agree on, and then declare victory.

As it stands now - we’ll still be talking about Health Care in November, and I doubt you will find anyone admitting to voting for it then.

  24. Keith,
I want my income intact too.  And I want to make my own decisions as to how it will, or won’t, stay that way.  Oddly enough, I also don’t want YOUR income to end up in the shitter.  I also think you are, or should be, smart enough to make your own choices about how you live your life to maximize your happiness and paycheck.  I pefer that the government has almost no ability to force either one of us to make decisions we don’t want to about how we live our lives.
Whether you want to believe it or not, my preference is that both of us has the ability to realize the best of what life has to offer.  Even you have to believe you are better at managing your life than the politicians would be, don’t you?
The health care plan they are trying to ram down our throats assumes otherwise.
So…disagree with me or not.  I still want the best for you…and all of us.  And managed to make the point, I think, without being an insulting ass hat.

  25. I’m still laughing my ass off at comments 9, 11, 14, 19… You guys are too, too much.

You guys going to bail like Limbaugh when liberty dies at the feet of Obama’s health care reforms?  I’m just dying to know where you’ll go.

Posted by scott on March 17, 2010 at 2011 hrs

  26. Scott…you are an ass.  I’m still looking for an answer to #14, but you don’t have one because you have no morality.  You believe it is ok to take from another at the point of a gun to suit your needs.  Screw everyone else.  It’s all about you.  YOU are the greedy one.  At least the “robber barons” produced something for their “ill-gotten gains”.  What bullshit.  You are a thief.  Nothing more or less.

Liberty will die with this.  Not tomorrow, not next week.  But soon.  Very, very soon.  And you will sit and laugh as they come for us, but eventually, they will come for you, too.

  27. Pure.  Comedy.  :D

Wait, aren’t you guys going to take up arms against your oppressors?

Posted by scott on March 17, 2010 at 2122 hrs

  28. That would be illegal, now, wouldn’t it?  To even speak of violent overthrow of the government would be treasonous, now, wouldn’t it.

Still waiting for an answer to #14.  And #26…how you are not a common thief

Posted by Steve on March 17, 2010 at 2127 hrs

  29. Illegal?  You’re witnessing the very death of human liberty on earth and you’re worried about legalities??

And as far as 14 and 26 go, they don’t deserve answers so much as guffaws of laughter.
