Nancy Lanza

Norm!

NEWTOWN, Conn. (AP) — At the bar, everybody knew her name.

Nancy Lanza was the one who, if she heard you were short on cash, regularly offered to pick up the tab at My Place.

She seems like a neat lady.

  1. She seems like a neat lady.

Very generous. I ‘m sure she provided her sons with just about anything they wanted?

  2. At the bar, everybody knew her name.

    Is this a positive?

The AP lead certainly suggests that.

  3. Neat lady?

Nobody should be passing judgement on this woman.  None of us know what kind of a person she was.  Anyone taking 4 to the head from their child is a horrific tragedy, but it seems odd to judge her from what we know as being a “neat lady”.

She was living in a house with a son who was obviously seriously mentally ill.  Nobody knows what was going on in that house, but maybe she should have been spending less time at the shooting range and the local bar and more time caring for her seriously ill offspring.

  4. TMKF starts with:

Nobody knows what was going on in that house

    and concludes with:

maybe she should have been spending less time at the shooting range and the local bar and more time caring for her seriously ill offspring

Irony filter must have been turned off.  wink

  5. It’s odd to have such dichotomy in the same post.  Most of the moronic posters here at least separate comments.  It was entertaining to watch TMKF step on his own crank.

  6. Stating that I shouldn’t speculate doesn’t mean that I won’t.

When someone makes an odd speculation about a person who keeps an unsecured arsenal under the same roof as a mentally ill dependent as being “neat” I think it is entertaining to point out the absurdity.

Sorry to ruin your blogging pleasure.  I will be sure to do it again.

  7. There you go, keep doubling-down on your own stupidity.

  8. I don’t think TMKF’s statement that we don’t know anything about what was going on in that house is at odds with his “maybe” statement.  I mean, it can’t be.  That’s what “maybe” means.

I, however, am willing to speculate.  In my experience, people that are really into guns are almost always, at the very least, huge douchebags.  We keep hearing that she was really into guns and had them in the house.  With an obviously mentally ill person.  I think there’s a pretty good chance that she was at least a douchebag, and more likely probably completely negligent.

  9. Well, you appear to be a huge douchebag but apparently not “into” guns.  So correlation again doesn’t mean causation.  grin
