NAACP and Teachers Union Join Election Lawsuit

OK, maybe I can see the NAACP having some standing in this case if you buy the whole “having secure elections is racist” line, but the teachers’ union?  What are they inserting themselves into a case about the election process?

A Dane County judge today allowed the Milwaukee NAACP and a teachers union to intervene in a lawsuit Republican Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen brought against the state’s elections board.

Van Hollen sued the state Government Accountability Board last month to try to force it to perform more checks on voter information under a federal law. Five others - including the state Republican and Democratic parties - intervened in the case earlier, and Circuit Judge Maryann Sumi allowed the NAACP and the Milwaukee Teachers’ Education Association into the case today.

  1. It amazes me everytiime I see who doesn’t want to follow the law.

  2. One concern is it will mess up current registrations of its members. I am not sure how I feel about Van Halen’s lawsuit, but messing with voter registrations makes folks nervous.

I think we have more of an ACORN problem than a voter registration problem. It is really beyond me why some fool would allow an organization register them to vote.  I am more concerned that one of those ACORN folks will screw up my registration. Geeze, registering to vote is not the most difficult thing to do.

  3. Good point by Henry.  I thought you had to register to vote yourself.  If Doyle doesn’t want voter ID, why can’t we at least force him to enact a law that says you have to register in person and not allow these crazy groups to do it.

If you want to register to vote—-do it yourself.

If you want to vote—-do it yourself. Not because Diamond Jim is taking you out to eat and play free bingo.

  4. Of course the teacher’s union is interested. This lawsuit is about stealing elections through voter fraud…and when it works, it may be useful on the occasional referendum.

Henry, it is an ACORN (and their pals, the Democrats) problem. It is not about the registrations…it’s about using them.  The names on the poll lists can only be abused as long as we resist having a photo ID requirement.

  5. Seriously?  Just give up.  Grandpa and grandma (44 year old grandma, Alaska rocks) are done.  Mondale level blowout and Van Idiot will wish he never started this crap.  But still-  good luck schmucks- everyone loves an underdog.
