This recent picture released by Swiss car maker Rinspeed shows people aboard Rinspeed’s new model, the sQuba, the worldâs first real submersible car that will be presented at the 2008 Geneva car show in March. The zero-emission electric sports car, with power supplied by rechargeable Lithium-Ion batteries, can perform a submerged stabile flight at a depth of 10 meters.
I saw the cost is over $1,000,000. I didn’t realize you ha that kind of money and if so, does Wendy know about it?

Posted by Owen on February 16, 2008 at 1539 hrsWhere are the flying cars? When I was a kid growing up in the late 50s and early 60s, it was just assumed there would be flying cars by the turn of the century. They practically promised them to us. I’m really disappointed.

Posted by james wigderson on February 16, 2008 at 2040 hrsGiven the build quality of Rinspeeds earlier efforts I’d want to see this thing get out of the water before I’d get the checkbook out.
Posted by on February 17, 2008 at 0747 hrsThat is the coolest thing ever! I would give anything to just even ride this car. WIth this, there’d be less people who die of suicide from trying to jump the cars in the lakes.
Posted by Alicia on February 17, 2008 at 0927 hrsAlicia, the people would still drown. Only the car would survive.
Posted by on February 17, 2008 at 1030 hrsI would love to have a car like that! If it can run underwater, it would be more exciting! I’ll have an under the sea adventure everyday!
Posted by Humus on February 17, 2008 at 1137 hrsUm ... that looks like a convertible. With the top down. Anyone else see a problem with that?
