Of course, David Gregory is also a flaming lefty, but he usualy hides it better.
MSNBC tried a bold experiment this year by putting two politically incendiary hosts, Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews, in the anchor chair to lead the cable news channel’s coverage of the election.
That experiment appears to be over.
After months of accusations of political bias and simmering animosity between MSNBC and its parent network NBC, the channel decided over the weekend that the NBC News correspondent and MSNBC host David Gregory would anchor news coverage of the coming debates and election night. Mr. Olbermann and Mr. Matthews will remain as analysts during the coverage.
The change — which comes in the home stretch of the long election cycle — is a direct result of tensions associated with the channel’s perceived shift to the political left.

Tom Brokaw and Brian Williams, the past and present anchors of “NBC Nightly News,” have told friends and colleagues that they are finding it tougher and tougher to defend the cable arm of the news division, even while they anchored daytime hours of convention coverage on MSNBC and contributed commentary each evening.
Big deal - they are still on the show - It’s that Gregory now gets to feed them their softballs so they aren’t playing T-ball.
Big deal. They’ll just find another Lefty to handle it….oh…they already did.
I think it would be great to let Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews have a bitch fight on the air. The winner gets to be Obama’s locker mate.
The looser, and they both already qualify, has to take Obama out of their Tmobile “circle of 5 favorites” and go back to being guests on Jerry Springer.
On a more serious note: Since Stefenopolis is already employed what about Carville? He is at least funny and pretty damn smart. You love to hate him, and he is more impartial than anyone else at NBC, ABC or CBS.
Wow! 1 million viewers per evening… Art Bells ratings would crush that number in the first 5 minutes.
Wow. A tingle just ran up my leg!
If they had decent ratings, the network would have left (pun intended) everything alone. But they don’t.
Just imagine the immediate and vicious uproar and backlash if CNN succumbed to complaints and pulled Glenn Beck or if Fox News pulled Sean Hannity. OK, that last part was a joke; Fox News would never even listen to a complaint from a liberal, but you get my drift.
Heaven forbid there’s a liberal counterbalance to Fox News and its RNC cheerleading.
And making the stretch to assume that Tweety is a Liberal

Heaven Forbid: NPR, ABC (with “I worked (was the brains behind) Bill Clinton) Every major newspaper in America except the WSJ and Washington Times, Newsweek Time, CNN, NBC, MSNBC, CBS, Today Show, Good Morning America, Anything with Bryant GumBall, Most Universities, U.S. News and World Report. I could go on but these are more facts than you are used to getting in one day.
MSNBC was responding to their bottom line. People think they stink and don’t watch. Even the other libs that work there think they stink so bad they don’t want to be associated with them. If millions were watching them they would let the circus run until they ran out of peanuts to sell.
Fox is chewing them up in ratings. The fact that Fox News would never listen to advice from a liberal is a tribure to their good common sense. Why would you listen to businesss advice from a group of comrads that think business is evil and make their money from government programs?
apc: Go see a doctor about your recent head injury.
Gee, thanks. Awfully nice of you to attribute my obvious foolishness to a head injury rather than innate stupidity. I appreciate your concern. ![]()
