Moving to the Right/Left

This is interesting to watch.

Senate Democrats today elected freshman Sen. Chris Larson of Milwaukee to serve as minority leader for the upcoming session.

Larson is one of those activist, bomb-throwing (rhetorical), ultra-liberals who plays a no-holds-barred kind of politics. He’s the guy the Senate Democrats chose as their leader. This indicates that they intend to lurch even further to the left in the wake of their election defeat.

Yet these same liberals are telling national Republicans that they must move to the left because they lost at the national level.

Curious, no?

  1. If Owen is right about this guy, this is very disappointing.
I’m tired of fighting. Time for getting back to work.

  2. That’s why we need to get off this TEA Party candidate criticism.

When Democrats have the opportnity, they go with the liberal fringe and celebrate their socialism.

I’m tired of this notion that the further socialist you are, that is worthy of praise, and positions of freedom and less government have to be apologized for.

  3. I laughed when I first was told as well, but considering how elegantly the GOP restructured the legislative playing field into something far less representative of Wisconsin as a whole, I’ve come to think an aggressive bomb-thrower like Larson isn’t a bad idea. They need someone who’s willing to be a little smash mouth and who will draw sharp contrasts. It’s a hell of a lot smarter than their Assembly brethren, who put Peter Barca back in charge. What good will that do for them?

The other thing to consider, of course, is who ELSE in that Senate Dem caucus is supposed to be their leader? Who’s a better option?

  4. It really tells you where the Democrat party is in this state when they choose a crackpot, moon bat like Sticky Fingers Larson to be their “leader”.  Wow, just wow.

  5. Agree with RS ( not unusual).

Wisconsin just elected Tammy Baldwin convincingly but 9 Republican legislators want to “nullify” Obamacare and arrest officials who implement it ?

I kidded months ago about Kevin and Owen loving the 50’s (the 1850’s) but as the Journal points outs out , nullification was settled in 1832 by (Andrew Jackson) - admittedly a Democrat but at least from a Red State.

You’ve got the votes to pass more laws so Wisconsin can be the “Texas of the North ” . It sure as hell doesn’t mean we have have to take it with a smile..

Well, Erpenbach thought he would be a better option, but in the end, somebody flipped on him.  Thus, the dysfunctional Senate Dem caucus remains even more so, but now with a 32 year old kooky far-left liberal freshman in charge.

  7. I thought Wisconsin elected Tammy Baldwin because she was against Obamacare she has a much better idea she will be bringing forward. Will she be leading the charge in DC to repeal?
Your dammmmmmmmmm right she will be .

If we must have a lesbian senator at least give us an attractive one to look at.

I like the sound of that. I’ll take that over “California of the North” any day wink

  9. I actually think that Larson is a very complementary choice for Fitz the Elder.

    Should be a fun session:)
