Mayor Deiss Is Member of Anti-Gun Rights Group

Shame on me for letting this slip my me.  Thanks for pointing it out, Dad29. 

West Bend’s Mayor is a member of Mayor’s Against Illegal Guns.  She shares the company of several of Wisconsin’s most liberal mayors like Milwaukee’s Tom Barrett, Waukesha’s Larry Nelson, and Madison’s Dave Cieslewicz. 

Mayors Against Illegal Guns sounds good if you just read their name.  We’re all against illegal guns, right?  Unfortunately, they are not just against illegal guns.  They are against guns - period.  MAIG supports some of the most oppressive gun laws and regulations in the nation which are designed to make gun ownership and use so restrictive as to render the 2nd Amendment meaningless.  It was started by Michael Bloomberg and Thomas Menino - two of the most anti-gun mayors in the country. 

The question is, why is Mayor Deiss a member of such virulently anti-gun group?  Did she just sign up based on the name or does she really support their agenda?  Of course, she’s been known to sign things without reading them in the past. 

UPDATE: Oops… it looks like WISSUP reported this back in August.  Credit where credit is due…
