Man Disarms Attackers

Awesome.

A couple of young robbers got more than they bargained for when they tried to shake down a 47-year-old man outside a liquor store near N. 41st and W. Burleigh streets, police say.

After purchasing a bottle of liquor, the 47-year-old was confronted by the two robbers, and one presented a handgun, which police later discovered was a BB gun. Thinking quickly, the man used the bottle knock the gun from the robber’s hands, causing the two robbers to flee the scene, according to a release from police.

A citizen in the area had witnessed two youths practicing “their masking and unmasking technique,” police said, and based on that description police were able to take one of the 15-year-old suspects into custody. Soon after, the other 15-year-old was taken into custody, police said.

Let’s hope he’s not prosecuted for carrying a concealed bottle.

  3. Ah George, the “gun” the goblin carried and used was a BB gun.  Do you think the bottle defense would work against a 9mm??

    But, those poor minority kids should be allowed to buy and use all the guns they want, BB guns, 9mm, .45 ACP, Afterall, they are at a disadvantage. So if they can use a gun to make up for the systemic denial of their civil rights, and the institutionalized racism of the government of the white man…. More power to them.

    The average Joe should just succumb to the position of power that the poor underpriviledged bad guys hold, because they weren’t born with a silver spoon in their mouth.
