Little Mishap

I flew back into General Mitchell airport yesterday and the pilot had to take a second stab at landing.  We were over the runway perhaps a few hundred feet off the ground when the pilot throttled back up and we began ascending again.  As we lifted I looked down and saw another plane on the runway taking off.  Once we were back to altitude and circling back around, the pilot explained that another plane was on the runway and being a little slow in taking off.

Fun!

  2. I had the same experience a few years ago in a T-Storm.  Went went back up into the pattern, tried to land and got waved off again.  spent an hour is some of the scariest s—- I’ve been in.

  4. Had one of those a few year ago - but it wasn’t a plane on the runway - it was a deer…

    Still a little unnerving.
