LGOPPs

In an effort to prevent Republican Guard units in northern Iraq from repositioning toward Baghdad, a thousand soldiers from a U.S. Army airborne unit based in Italy would parachute into the Kurdish-controlled north in a few hours; what the Army called LGOPPs - little groups of pissed-off paratroopers…
